00:00Wow, everybody's so excited about AI, artificial intelligence, but upon doing a deep dive into
00:07the topic and doing some extensive research the last few days, I suddenly learned that
00:13in reality, there's a lot of gender bias and racial discrimination in AI from facial recognition
00:21software and the way it's programmed from European renaissance days and even the algorithms are
00:30focusing on more features characteristic of white European Anglo-Saxons and not fully
00:41demonstrating or visualizing Asian features or African-American features in different ethnicities
00:49and then in addition to that, which is kind of demeaning and dehumanizing, then you've got
00:54these test bots that are grading standardized tests across the United States in states such
01:00as Texas where 60% of the population is Latino as far as the students and yet they're being
01:07penalized because they're always not answering in English and the bots only recognize English
01:12and their tests are being flagged if they use another word in another language or some other
01:17vernacular slang that's not commonly understood by traditional bots or the white middle class
01:24educators who program these software packages that are computing and doing the artificial
01:32intelligence so it's creating a huge problem but in Texas you've got to pay $50 if you think you've
01:38have a child who did not earn a adequate grade and then only if your grade comes back to be
01:44higher than what the bot gave you does the state of Texas give you back your $50 so this is
01:51basically a whole discriminatory dehumanizing process in education and algorithms and even the
01:59way it happened on Instagram with the Facebook whistleblower before they changed the name to
02:05Meta when I was living in the San Francisco Bay area the Facebook whistleblower revealed because
02:10Facebook owns Instagram and now they're under the umbrella of Meta but she revealed that the
02:16algorithm was shaming women and intentionally so because young ladies would spend more time online
02:22when they felt inferior or insecure in comparison to other women and they would compare themselves
02:28so these people who are involved in the bot creation and artificial intelligence
02:35it actually favors Chinese to my surprise because they know how to game the system and memorize
02:40a template and how to answer on some of these essay questions and even MIT they have a babble
02:48program that they created some of the students and the higher up professors to see if they could
02:54prove that the artificial intelligence was not doing its job by just writing gibberish
02:59into the essay box and sure enough they were able to get high marks and score high grades
03:06on their gibberish incoherent answers just because it looked intelligent to the bot who
03:14saw the sophisticated vocabulary being used though it had no relevance or context or coherence
03:19in relation to the question so this my friend sadly is American education in the state of
03:25American education seeking to save millions of dollars by not hiring graders but outsourcing
03:31it to bots and the state of Texas has saved between 10 to 15 million dollars by employing
03:38artificial intelligence to grade its students tests not a lot of ethics or integrity there
03:44god help and save the United States
