China test-launched an intercontinental ballistic missile into the Pacific Ocean, the defence ministry says, a the rare trial run as Beijing flexes its military might.

00:00At 8.44 p.m. on September 25, the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Rocket Army successfully launched the Zhouji ballistic missile, which is equipped with a training simulator, into the Pacific Ocean-related open sea area, and entered the designated area accurately.
00:18The launch of this missile is a routine arrangement for the annual military training, in accordance with international law and international convention, and does not target any particular country or target.
