00:00The Via dell'Invisibile as the theme of the 2024 edition of the Driving Energy Award,
00:11the photographic competition promoted by Terna, is open to all photographers in Italy,
00:16aimed at promoting the country's cultural development and the new talents of the sector.
00:22The proclamation of the five winners among the more than 3,300 interpreters of the theme of the 2024 award
00:29took place at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome,
00:32a place that hosts the finalist photographs until October 12,
00:36with an immersive visit space made in the Metaverse.
00:40The Driving Energy Award has arrived in the third edition, it is a new success.
00:45More than 3,300 photographers who have participated in this award
00:49already show how much it has become one of the most important photographic awards in our country.
00:55The Via dell'Invisibile was a fascinating theme for us,
00:58as a company, in addition to the submarine connections we are making,
01:02the Terranial Link, the Adriatic Link, but also the connection Italy-Tunisia,
01:06but I also think of all the landings of the previous airlines,
01:09we try to be more and more invisible,
01:12but at the same time to guide this country towards the energy transition,
01:15so it is the perfect theme for Terna.
01:18Let's say it's a mission, a commitment,
01:21I also believe that it is a duty of a company like ours
01:24to offer awards of this kind that help art and photography
01:31to have new opportunities for growth and development on the territory.
01:35This year we have built a series of connections with the academies of the whole country
01:39to involve more and more young people.
01:41This year we had tripled the number of young photographers who participated in the award,
01:45so it is an award that looks to the future
01:47and that connects our whole country through a wonderful form of art.
01:52The exhibition hosts this year, out of competition,
01:55an unpublished work by Mimmo Iodice,
01:57avant-garde photographer and great protagonist in the cultural debate
02:02that led to the affirmation and recognition of photography in Italy and abroad.
02:07The decline of the Invisible was really great
02:10because it goes from a whole series of things that we either don't see or don't want to see,
02:15such as nomadic camps, old psychiatric hospitals,
02:18so also very social and well-structured works,
02:22to much more personal researches,
02:25so having a huge range of representation of the theme
02:30and always with a very high quality.
02:32The senior award of this edition was awarded to the artist from Forlì, Silvia Camporesi,
02:38who dedicated the victory to her homeland, Romania,
02:41put to the test by bad weather.
02:43The idea was to photograph the scenes in disuse of Cinecittà
02:48as invisible places,
02:52in the sense that when they are no longer used
02:55they become abandoned places,
02:58so there is this contrast between the luminosity they have inside the cinema
03:02when they are shot as scenographies
03:05and this sort of abandonment they suffer when they are not used.
03:09So I wanted to play on this contrast
03:12and also on the relationship between fiction and reality
03:14that is very present in my works.
