00:00What you can expect in the panto is lots of fear and terror.
00:06If I haven't got some children running and crying by the end of the performance,
00:11I'm not doing my job properly.
00:13Trust me, fellas, also a bit of singing and dancing and comedy as well.
00:16It's your classic panto.
00:18What I most look forward to, believe it or not, is the song.
00:21They let me do one song, and I'll admit, I'm very much at the
00:25never mind the quality, belted out level of singing.
00:28So they'll give me a good old anthem to belt out in the bad guy role,
00:31and I really enjoy that.
00:33I've got one of the world's greatest memories,
00:35but it's like a random access memory.
00:37And actually learning a script where every word's got to be in precise order,
00:42I find quite tough.
00:43Same time, I've got no excuse to just go and put the work in,
00:46because my role effectively is to be the straight guy in the panto.
00:51I'm the one who sticks strictly to the script,
00:56so the comedians can go off and do funny and react to the audience,
01:00knowing that when they've done their bit,
01:02they can come back and I'm there waiting for them.
