00:00Let's look big picture here for the entire event.
00:08The United States has been dominant.
00:10The internationals have only won this once, they've tied another time.
00:15I think that's why maybe this doesn't get the same gas as the Ryder Cup, because there's
00:19been so much dominance on one side that everybody doesn't get as fired up for it, but sometimes
00:25on international soil, it's a lot closer than when it's in the States.
00:29Well, Carver, you're absolutely right.
00:32The last two on international soil, Melbourne, Australia, and South Korea, have been really,
00:36really tight.
00:37In fact, in Australia, the international side was leading, going into singles on Sunday.
00:42That thing was really tight when the captains were Ernie and Tiger.
00:46Really what it comes down to, and a lot of people forget this because it was 100 years
00:49ago, but the United States won 22 of the first 25 Ryder Cups.
00:54Back then, you could have been having the same conversation.
00:56It's tough to get this thing started.
00:58It's even tougher for the internationals, because let me ask you a quick question, Carver.
01:03Let's say they do win this week.
01:05Where would they put the trophy?
01:06Are they going to put it in South Korea, Australia, Canada, South America?
01:10Where are you going to put it?
01:12What they have done in the last dozen years, starting with ELLs and through Emelman, and
01:17now into Captain Weir, bringing the culture together, is working towards a win.
01:22They don't need to win this week.
01:23They do need to keep it close, but they don't need to win in order to continue that progress.
01:27Hey, the Ryder Cup's not hurting now.
01:29Remember where it started.
01:30This thing, yeah, it's been one-sided, but you know what?
01:34This thing's going to be close, and those Canadian crowds are going to play a huge part
01:36in that.
01:37How close are we thinking here, Bob?
01:40Me and Cam were talking earlier.
01:41He liked USA to win between one and three.
01:44I stretched it out a little further with some nice plus money for the United States to win
01:48between four and six.
01:50You think the United States wins, obviously, Keith, and how much do you think they win by?
01:54Well, I definitely think the U.S. wins.
01:56I think it's going to be between two and three.
01:58I think it's going to be a 16-14, 17-13, right in that mix.
02:02At the end of the day, what's really going to hurt the international side is Friday.
02:06They have five foursome matches, and what's unique about the President's Cup is that they
02:10put more guys in play.
02:11Well, our team is just that much stronger.
02:13We've got 10 guys of the 12 in the top 20 in the official World Golf ranking.
02:17They have three.
02:19So over the course of that many matches and 30 points, it's just going to be very hard
02:24for them to keep up.
02:25There's only so many putts that you can make.
02:27And then they talk about how, oh, you know, we go away, that they're going to take away
02:30the bombing gouge from the Americans.
02:32We hit more greens in regulation, and we hit more fairways.
02:35So no matter what you want to do to this golf course, have at it.
02:39We just have better players overall.
02:41And our big four, if they play all five matches, they could get 10 to 12 points alone, and
02:46you only need 15.5 to win.
02:48So again, that's Scotty, Xander, Colin, and Patrick.
02:51I mean, those guys need to play all five, and Furyk won't outsmart himself, and that's
02:57the path to victory.
02:59For Captain Weir, I mean, he has got to get those three Canadians to play well and get
03:03this crowd behind him and get it close on Sunday.
03:06If he does that, then the United States is going to start to feel the pressure from even
03:10Bethpage.
03:11How could they lose going into a Ryder Cup year where they're going to be at home in
03:14New York City?
03:15So there could be a little anxiety in the end if they can keep this thing going for
03:19as long as possible on the international side.
