00:00the Big 12 a little bit more
00:06certainty. Let's go to Provo
00:07late night. Lacey Guy, Kansas
00:09State 13th in the country. Now,
00:11a legitimate Big 12 contender
00:13less than a touchdown favorite
00:14though against the Cougs of BYU
00:17who were just a two and seven
00:19Big 12 team last year straight
00:21up in their first year in
00:23conference play but catching
00:24less than a touchdown at home
00:26in Provo. What the Kalani
00:28Sataki and the boys have
00:29watched. I think they could be a
00:30live dog in regards to this
00:31matchup. I really do. I'm sorry
00:34but late night in Provo,
00:35strange things happen. Now, we
00:37know about BYU's offense
00:38averaging 289 passing yards per
00:41game but they're very good in
00:42the secondary as well. Holding
00:43opposing offenses to only a
00:45buck 30. I understand certain
00:47competition but they beat SMU
00:49in regards to that road matchup
00:5018 to 15. Very sound defense.
00:53They forced quarterbacks to
00:54methodically work down the
00:55field and Avery Johnson and that
00:57passing attack and Lee averaging
00:58a buck 67. Giddens and Johnson
01:00are going to have to get after
01:01it as it relates to the rushing
01:03attack especially on the road.
01:06I think this game goes right
01:07down to the wire. I know on
01:09paper Kansas State might be the
01:10better team Kev but I'm going to
01:12take the points with BYU. I do
01:14like the over though. That is my
01:16best play out of both. I like
01:17BYU but I think we get points
01:19of plenty in terms of this
01:20matchup. I was on K-State
01:22coming into this show and then
01:23all of a sudden a Joe Lacey
01:24style ear to the ground
01:25statement game developed. I
01:26love Kansas State. Maybe my
01:28favorite. Listen, here's kind of
01:30the selling point on Kansas
01:32State. Is BYU being massively
01:35overrated? Rarely is these
01:37trendy dog, I'm the sharpest man
01:39in the room spots. Oh, BYU is
01:413-0. Nobody is talking about
01:42them. Yeah, because they beat
01:44SMU who is terrible and massively
01:47overrated coming into the
01:48season and Wyoming who is
01:50absolutely atrocious. One of the
01:53worst teams relative to
01:54expectations we've seen all
01:56year. Let's do a little spread
01:58math, shall we? Tulane or BYU?
02:00Green Wave, not even a doubt in
02:01my mind. This is three points
02:02shorter than when K-State went
02:04and played the Green Wave. And
02:05we say weird things happen in
02:06Provo. Tulane has been an
02:08absolute monster machine at home
02:10and K-State still won that game
02:12by a touchdown. Their win over
02:13Arizona I think is one of the
02:15most impressive we've seen all
02:16college football season. Gave up
02:18a touchdown in the opening
02:19drive, not a single point from
02:20that moment forward. We've seen
02:22it defensively and look for
02:23Avery Johnson. I'm going a
02:25different style this week. Go
02:26for the loot. Certainly not
02:27back to the roots. But Avery
02:28Johnson would have ended the
02:29two-plunge touchdown man here.
02:31BYU gave up double touchdowns to
02:33SIU's quarterback, DJ Williams,
02:35and the real Rola, Evan
02:36Sabota, put two on the ground
02:37against them despite only they
02:38scoring 14. Also threw another
02:40pick, 156 yards and two passing
02:42touchdowns for the Pop-Tarts
02:44Bowl MVP, Avery Johnson. But
02:4617 attempts on the ground for
02:48110 yards. BYU last year gave up
02:51178 yards per game on the
02:53ground. Third worst in the Big
02:5512. A big test tonight against
02:57Kansas State who, oh, by the
02:59way, under Chris Kleiman, who
03:00became the head coach in the
03:01Little Apple in 2019. 29, 15,
03:04and three against the spread in
03:06Big 12 play. It is the second
03:08best cover percentage over FBS
03:10programs in that entire span in
03:13conference action. Only Navy at
03:1527 and 13 against the number is
03:17a better cover team in
03:19conference play.
