00:00Meet the newest internet sensation, Mu Deng, the baby hippo. This cute little pygmy hippo was born
00:04at the Khao Khao Open Zoo in Thailand in July 2024, and right out of the womb, it was destined
00:09for virality online. Photographs and videos of Mu instantly went viral, in particular this really
00:14cute image where she's being sprayed with a water hose while looking mortified. That's right,
00:18the reason this hippo is so viral is she looks visually perturbed, like she really doesn't want
00:21to be sprayed with that beam of water. The name Mu Deng quite literally translates to bouncing
00:25pork. It's like a soup-like dish made from ground pork. Immediately, fanart started ushering out,
00:30like this drawing by Sarttanis. This hippo was too cute not to draw, but this was just the
00:34beginning. This next photograph would change Mu Deng's history forever. On September 5th,
00:382024, this image of Mu Deng getting absolutely blasted with a stream of water went viral. For
00:44some reason, she just has her mouth open in every image. I like to imagine she is hitting an epic
00:48note yodeling or something. Either way, the fanart really started to pour out after this slew of
00:52images reached the web. One of my favorites is this collab by Glittering Grimm, which received
00:56hundreds of thousands of likes. So cute, and always screaming.
