New South Wales police officers and their families have honoured those who've died while on duty.

00:00Police officers and their families gathered at services across the country today to mark
00:07the National Police Remembrance Day.
00:09Here in Sydney the service was held indoors in front of the NSW Police Wall of Remembrance
00:16to honour those that have fallen in the line of duty since the creation of the force in
00:211862.
00:22There are currently 276 names etched in stone.
00:27The police band welcomed a number of dignitaries including the NSW Police Commissioner Karen
00:34Webb and the Governor of the State.
00:37There were also dignitaries from overseas in attendance.
00:41There has been one name added to the wall this year and that was Sergeant Peter Stone
00:46who died whilst saving his son from drowning whilst on duty.
00:51People laid wreaths and flowers on the wall in what was an hour long ceremony.
