00:57them through U.S. citizens, helping him qualify for an additional $10 million in public financing.
01:04On Thursday, he was charged with conspiracy, fraud and bribery in a five-count indictment
01:09that could see him jailed for decades.
01:11As the indictment alleges, Mayor Adams engaged in a long-running conspiracy in which he solicited
01:17and knowingly accepted illegal campaign contributions from foreign donors and corporations.
01:23Adams knew that these wealthy individuals could not legally donate in a U.S. election.
