A senior citizen couple received a big surprise on the morning of polling day for the Mahkota by-election on Saturday (Sept 28) when Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi showed up at their door to ferry them to cast their ballots.

00:48Muhammad Hilmi Zainal also made the journey from Johor Bahru to cast his vote.
00:54He said his siblings, who live in Malacca, Pahang and Selangor, had also returned to

01:00The Election Commission said as of 2pm, the voter turnout was at 38.53% and they expect
01:07the turnout will reach at least 60% as the polls close at 6pm.
