The two candidates contesting in the Nenggiri state by-election met face to face at the polling centre at Tabika Sri Bakawali in Gua Musang on Saturday (Aug 17). They cast their ballots early in the morning after the polls opened.

00:0020 polling stations opened at 8 a.m. on Saturday for the Nenggiri state by-election.
00:08The Election Commission said the voter turnout as of 11 a.m. was at 40.43%.
00:14A total of 20,259 registered voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the by-election,
00:22which saw a straight fight between Barisan Nationals Mohamed Azmawi and Perikatan Nationals
00:27Mohamed Rizwadi.
00:29The two candidates, accompanied by their wives, cast their votes at the Tabika Sri Bakawali
00:35Polling Centre at about 8.30 a.m.
00:38The by-election was called following the vacancy of the seat by former incumbent Mohamed Azizi
00:44Abu Naeem, who lost his Bersatu membership in June.
00:48The polls will close at 6 p.m., after which the vote-tallying process will take place

00:56The results are expected to be known by 9 p.m. at the earliest.
