00:00Can you give us your overall reflection on the game?
00:08I thought we dominated the game really, just two silly goals against us really. I thought
00:16we played well, from box to box we opened them up really well, just that final little
00:22bit in the final third.
00:24It's always difficult going behind so early, it can deflate the players, but the reaction
00:28was actually quite good. We just spoke to Ben, he said he was immensely proud of how
00:31the lads reacted, but it is frustrating to be pegged behind that early, isn't it?
00:35Yes, it is. You're chasing already after five minutes. I thought the boys really stuck together,
00:46fought really hard and just unfortunately couldn't get anything.
00:50For the third or fourth week in a row, we've faced one of the sides that will be tipped
00:54to be up there towards the end of the season. Again, we've gone toe-to-toe with them. We
00:57spoke to Armando after Wrexham last week, he said he was slightly frustrated at the
01:01fact that we can go toe-to-toe to these sides, but we're not punishing them. Is that the
01:04general feeling in the dressing room?
01:06Yes, it is. After we just came in, it was deflated, but because we played so well, it's
01:14just that final little bit. We know if we can sort that out and start scoring from goals,
01:19we can beat anyone.
01:20Yes, and it's not far off, is it? As you say, it probably will click at some stage.
01:24I suppose it's just thrashing out those frustrations on the training pitch and all of a sudden
01:28we'll be fine on all cylinders.
01:30Yes, exactly. It is just that final little bit. We're gelling as a team, we're really
01:36together as a team, whatever happens off the pitch, we're really together. Just that final
01:42little bit.
01:43Yes, I suppose the players can take immense pride in how they've dealt with the ongoings
01:46of this week. As Ben just said, it can be tricky for players. There's been a lot of
01:51outside noise and internal disruption as well. The reaction from the players was good, wasn't
01:56it?
01:57Yes, it was. I think the fact that Gladys was there when the manager was there as well
02:02I think helped us. He's been around the group, so everyone's clear of what he wants. Everyone
02:07respects him. I think everyone thinks he's a really good guy. There was no real transition
02:14period with the boys because Gladys was already there. I think we've just got to click a little
02:20bit in that final third and I think we can start winning games.
02:24Yes, it's one of those football clichés, isn't it? After you lose, you always want
02:28to get back playing as soon as possible. We're going to have the opportunity to do that.
02:31As you say there, with Gladys, that transition period is a lot easier. It should be very
02:35obvious what needs fixing on the training ground on Mondays, but we look to get back
02:39to winning ways on Tuesday night.
02:40Yes, exactly. It's a quick turnaround, so just on to Tuesday. Full focus on that and
02:45hopefully we can get three points.
02:49You mentioned about the squad being together and everything. How easy is it to avoid all
02:55the noise that goes around when you have a week like this when the manager leaves?
02:59I think obviously it's tough, happening so quickly. But look, we're a good group. We're
03:06together. I think you could see that on the pitch. We were fighting for each other. We
03:11played really good football. Just that technical bit of finishing all the possession we had.
03:18I think we're together. I think there's no problem with that.
03:21Your performances have been really eye-catching this year so far. How pleased are you with
03:26your own personal performances so far?
03:29I think the system we play really suits me. I'm happy with how I've played in the team.
03:36I've got great boys around me. If you've got Rush running in behind, it's an easy pass
03:42for me to play him because he's so quick. If you play Jez on the left, he can do anything
03:47with the ball. I've got an easy job compared to them boys. It's just everyone doing their
03:54jobs and we will when we start to win games. So it's just about clicking.
04:00You were obviously playing in the Dutch top flight last year. What are the main differences
04:04between playing in League 2 and playing in the Eredivisie?
04:10I think for me it's just being around that English culture. I think over there it was
04:16a bit different for me. I think the fans, obviously you can hear what they're saying
04:22over there. It's a different language. They might be abusing you but you don't really
04:26know. I think the main thing is just that English football culture.
04:32What do you think of the Crawley fans? They've taken to you quite quickly, haven't they?
04:36Yeah, really good. I think they're class. Loud every home game and away game. They support
04:42us wherever we were. Like Wigan, there's loads there. They're travelling all over the country
04:49and I think we just need to now give them a bit to cheer about really. Get some free
04:55points, get some wins. I think they'll back us even more.
