00:33A major cast shake-up occurred between this medical drama's third and fourth seasons.
00:37The irascible but brilliant Dr. Gregory House auditioned several students to join his team of diagnostic rock stars.
00:43Though House cuts her from that team, Amber Velakis sticks around to date his best friend, Dr. Wilson.
00:48So, which is it, House?

00:57If we were surprised by their relationship, House was even more so.

02:43And every time he came back, he was in a dramatically different set of circumstances.
02:48But the biggest shocker was when it was revealed that he was dating Kurt's ex Blaine.

02:54Yogi and Boo Boo. That's his nickname for us because I'm his big bear and he's my little cub.
02:59The storyline didn't really go anywhere except to complicate Kurt and Blaine's getting back together.
03:04But the fact that it happened at all was crazy to consider.
03:11Ian Gallagher's sexuality was a major storyline in the first season of Shameless.
03:16But when we first met the violent and intolerant Mickey Milkovich, romance was the last thing on our minds.
03:22After Mickey robs the convenience store where Ian works, Ian confronts him at his house.
03:26But their passionate fight turns into something else.
03:29I wouldn't mind a kid or two, though.
03:34There's plenty of strays wandering around the neighborhood. I'm sure we can pick one up for cheap.
03:38In spite of being set up as bitter rivals, the two would go on to become a favorite of fans and one of the show's most functional couples.
03:45Now, we know that's not hard on a show like Shameless, but still.
04:00Viewers were basically convinced from the jump that Jess and Nick were made for each other.
04:05For some, though, the coupling of the lovable ladies' man Schmidt and Jess' standoffish best friend Cece was a harder sell.

05:05Although a very intelligent psychology professor, Alana soon finds she's in over her head with Will Graham and Hannibal.

05:39Stan Rizzo arrived at Sterling Cooper Draper Price and immediately butted heads with Peggy Olsen.
05:44His insults and suggestive comments don't exactly endear him to her.
05:48Her unwillingness to take his jokes irritates him.
05:51But after being forced to work together, Peggy figured out how to handle Stan.
05:55Maybe she figured it out too well.
05:57Once she broke his ego, the art director was hooked.
06:00What are you waiting for?
06:01The two's frosty relationship starts to thaw after a risque work session in a hotel room.
06:06Their budding attraction throughout the last couple of seasons culminated in the two being endgame.
06:11I can't believe this.
06:15I think I'm in love with you too.

06:18Kelly Kapoor and Daryl Philbin, The Office
06:20Kelly Kapoor's one mission in life is to get attention.
06:24Case in point, her entire romantic history.
06:27In season four of The Office, she begins dating warehouse foreman Daryl.
06:31The relationship was as much a shock to us as it was to their co-workers at Dunder Mifflin.
06:35Oops.
06:41That was cold.
06:42But it was all just a ploy to make Kelly's co-worker Ryan jealous after he dumped her.
06:46After all, she usually had one eye on Ryan when she and Daryl kissed.
06:50In a way, their brief fling was kind of perfect.
06:53Daryl was attracted to Kelly's manipulative ways, and Kelly found his honesty refreshing.
06:58Although it didn't last long, it was comedy gold.
07:01Daryl Philbin is the most complicated man that I have ever met.
07:05I mean, who says exactly what they're thinking?

07:12Chastity Claire, Cece Babcock and Niles, The Nanny
07:15Maxwell Sheffield's testy business partner and his stuffy butler were perfect comic foils for each other.
07:21For several seasons of The Nanny, they nearly started spitting tacks every time the other one entered a room.
07:26I just could not get out of bed this morning.
07:30Someone leave a big rock on your coffin again.
07:33We loved watching them hate each other.
07:36There was no real reason to think things wouldn't just continue that way, with the two making cracks at the other's expense.
07:41But it turned out these two loved insulting each other so much that things eventually just translated to loving each other.
07:47Who knew calling someone a cow was just how some people flirt?
07:51Are you telling me that all those years that you put dishwater in her coffee and changed her lip balm for glue stick and called her a cow, you were flirting?

08:02George O'Malley and Izzy Stevens, Grey's Anatomy
08:05Look, it wouldn't be Grey's Anatomy without a few wrong-headed romantic entanglements.
08:09But this one just felt wrong from the word go.
08:12George O'Malley's fixation on his female colleagues, particularly Meredith Grey, was something you thought he would have grown out of after he met and married Kali Torres.
08:20But no, he and Izzy had to ruin it by getting together in season three.
08:24It's the new way to cure a head and heartache.
08:31What's worse is they had great chemistry as friends.
08:34They were more like brother and sister, which made it all the more hard to swallow when they got together.
08:38It really seemed like the writers were just trying to throw something at the wall and see if it stuck.

08:48Hayley Dunphy and Andy Bailey, Modern Family
08:52Who are you?
08:53Oh my God, you scared the hell out of me.
08:55Okay, language. There's a baby in the house.
08:57The ditzy and popular Hayley Dunphy seems like a strange match for the goofy nanny Andy.
09:02And not just because of their very different personalities.
09:05Seriously, Mandy, do you, uh, do you really have to do that?
09:09I see what you're doing. Don't bother, because I have a girlfriend of eight years back in Utah.
09:14Andy is in a long-term committed relationship from the moment they meet.
09:17And while they have undeniable chemistry, he's such a decent guy that we would never expect him to cheat on his partner.
09:29But their love is too strong to be denied.
09:32And Andy's fiance wasn't exactly faithful either.
09:35Hayley and Andy may have been unexpected, but they've become surprisingly popular together,
09:39given how cute and romantic their relationship proved to be.
09:44We should wait for the perfect moment so we can start a relationship right.
09:47Something special and magical like in the movies.

10:03Maria is a painter Samantha meets and hits it off with.

10:19when she entered into a committed relationship with anyone at all, much less with a woman.
10:24While Samantha's promiscuous past ultimately comes between them and leads to their breakup,
10:28Samantha's time with Maria definitely showed off a new and unexpected side to her character.

10:54You're Stan.
10:57There have been many differences between The Walking Dead comics and the television series,
11:01but one of the most surprising and well-received has been the relationship between Rick and Michonne.

11:18Rick is the hardened leader of the main group of survivors,
11:21while Michonne is his katana-wielding right-hand woman.
11:24Over the course of the series, a mutual trust and rapport develops between them,
11:28which transitions into love in the later seasons.
11:37While the lack of such a pairing in the comics may have made them seem an unlikely couple at first,
11:41their similarly strong, capable personalities make them an excellent match on TV.

12:01Some couples seem destined to end up together from the start of a show,
12:04while others seem like they're dreamt up to keep an inevitable couple from getting together too soon.
12:09There's something else that I've been judging myself for.
12:15This is definitely one of the latter.
12:17Caleb always seemed like he was destined for Spencer's friend Hannah,
12:20so he and Spencer's relationship came as something of a surprise.
12:34Also, their respective backgrounds made a potential pairing unlikely,
12:38since Caleb has a checkered past, having done his fair share of computer hacking,
12:42while Spencer comes from a family of lawyers.
12:45Still, they did initially bond over a bit of hacking, so it wasn't a complete surprise.
12:50Why was it so easy to track down that signal?
12:52Why build a firewall if it's so easy to break down?
12:55I was just hoping you were gonna tell me all these texts were coming from the Radley.

13:07When Willow experiments even more with magic in college,
13:10she meets a fellow witch named Tara,
13:12and the two of them fall under each other's spell, so to speak.
13:15You can be strong.

13:21The pairing was a very unexpected one,
13:23not in the least because Willow still carried a torch for Oz,
13:26but also because she'd shown few indications of not being straight.
13:30That's me as a vampire?
13:32I'm so evil and skanky, and I think I'm kinda gay.
13:36There were some signs.
13:38In addition, Tara and Willow were so surprising because at this point in time,
13:42few LGBTQIA plus couples had been depicted on television.
13:46Though we couldn't have predicted it, these two ended up being a fan favorite couple.
13:50Besides spells going awry, friends in danger, I'm definitely nothing special.

14:00James Sawyer Ford and Juliet Burke, Lost
14:03You do realize, it's 1974.
14:07Whatever it is you think you're going back to, don't exist yet.
14:11Lost features a long-running love triangle between Jack, Kate and Sawyer,
14:15and when Juliet was added to the mix,
14:17she seemed like a romantic rival for Kate for Jack's affections.
14:20So when Juliet is stranded on the island with Sawyer,
14:23it came as a surprise that they ended up together,
14:25particularly because they didn't begin on the best footing.
14:28There may have been a taser involved.
14:36Despite being an unexpected relationship,
14:38they quickly became the power couple that fans did not know they wanted,
14:42making their ultimate separation all the more tragic,
14:44and their eventual metaphysical reunion all the more heartwarming.
14:48Juliet...
14:52Juliet is...
14:58Finally.
14:59Yeah, I thought they'd never leave.
15:04Although Jackie's relationship with Fez was also a head-scratcher,
15:07the Point Place Gang's resident diva's relationship with bad boy Hyde
15:11was even more out of left field, and a better pairing to boot.
15:14Jackie, talking is for people who have something in common.
15:19What?
15:23Hyde and Jackie constantly snipe at each other
15:25throughout most of the first part of the series,
15:27although there are some romantic undercurrents as well.
15:30Their hookup is thoroughly unexpected, though,
15:32as they are revealed to be fooling around in secret.

15:40Oh, my God.
15:41I'm blind!
15:44Despite several breakups and Hyde's reluctance to commit,
15:47their relationship is a remarkably entertaining one
15:50that we would have liked to have seen go the distance.

15:57I sicken me because you're supposed to sicken me, but you don't.

16:09And cheese?
16:11Like some of our previous entries,
16:13this is a pairing that had very little build-up,
16:15partially due to the characters' long-time dislike for one another.
16:18Isn't that the girl who told the entire school
16:20and, oh, several colleges that you had a drug problem?
16:24Blair Waldorf is a queen bee socialite
16:26and pretty much encompasses everything
16:28burgeoning writer Dan Humphrey claims to hate.
16:31In fact, the pair rarely interacts during the first part of the series,
16:34and when they do, it's usually because they're forced to
16:37and often end up in competition with one another.
16:40We are not done here.
16:41Yeah, we are.
16:42However, it's this competition that brings them closer together.
16:45One kiss, that's that?
16:48One kiss, and that's that.
16:50Ultimately, while most fans prefer them with the characters they end up with,
16:54Dan and Blair still have their supporters.

17:09While this show has seen several unexpected match-ups,
17:11notably Joey and Rachel,

17:20though the whole jellyfish incident definitely had us thinking it'd never happen.

17:33However, at Ross's wedding in London,
17:35the pair hooks up unexpectedly off-screen,
17:37catching the audience completely off-guard.
17:40Well, I've never done that with you before.

17:45Their unexpected romance hit the show like a hurricane,
17:48and had fans loving every minute of their sweet and hilarious relationship.
