00:00After a good start for you, where do you think it went away from you today, the game?
00:25I think we controlled most of the first half,
00:29and then we had a bad 15 minutes straight after the kick-off to the second half,
00:35where we lost the game in those 15 minutes, we lost the momentum.
00:39So when you see the end of the first half, I could hear the crowd a little bit booing,
00:44and they were not really pleased with the performance of the home team.
00:51We gave the momentum to Everton straight after half-time with an easy goal.
00:57Our mistake, it was a long ball from Pickford, we knew it was always the same after a kick-off.
01:03Long ball, stupid foul on the corner, clear the free kick, lose the ball again,
01:09and then a great finish.
01:11They got the belief back, they got the momentum,
01:14and the second goal is again a second phase after a set-play, wide free kick, we clear it.
01:20We were not ready for the second ball and then we lost the game.
01:23We tried everything, the players did everything until the end of the game,
01:26but we could see we got a little bit nervous then,
01:29we wanted to get the equaliser but we didn't find the right spaces,
01:34then they defended with everything they had,
01:36they celebrated every clearance in their own box.
01:39Within 15 minutes we lost the game today, really disappointing.
01:44Did you feel you could take advantage of that situation with the crowd,
01:48the way you were putting the balls into the box,
01:51and the nervousness from the home fans, that was something you were looking to exploit?
01:57Yeah, but it has changed.
01:59I don't know if we really had the ball in the second half until the equaliser,
02:03we cleared the wide free kick and then we had the ball when we lost it,
02:08and I don't know how many touches were in between,
02:11not many from Everton and not many from us,
02:14so of course we said, yeah, let's continue playing like this,
02:18let's move the ball, be ready for the long balls, be ready for the set-piece,
02:22because Everton is very good within this,
02:26so they scored many goals already in this season,
02:30two at Villa, two here against Bournemouth,
02:32but they conceded too much, and for us it is,
02:35if you concede too many goals, that's clear,
02:38then it's not too easy to take a point,
02:42over many parts of the game it didn't look like we lost this game,
02:47so therefore it's more disappointing.
02:54You spoke about exploiting Everton's weakness,
02:57was the idea to get Eze and Nketiah behind Everton's midfield
03:01work really well in the first half,
03:03and what changed in the second half to stop that attacking potency?
03:07Yes, to get them in the pocket to turn and having the wing-backs high,
03:12creating a five-against-four making runs,
03:15we had these situations many times in the first half,
03:18we were not that accurate in these passes to score more of it,
03:22but we had the lead after a set-play,
03:25so we were dangerous in set-plays as well,
03:29but you can't always score two or three or four goals to win a game,
03:35you need to be focused on the defending of the set-plays,
03:40but it wasn't like this,
03:44when they have to get the equaliser we will get our spaces
03:48and then decide the game for us,
03:51but when you don't even touch the ball and you have the equaliser,
03:55the crowd back, the confidence back,
03:58then it was an open game and one more set-play decided the game for Everton.
04:04There's been a lot of defensive combinations and rotations in your back line,
04:09how much has that disrupted things in terms of the relationships
04:12that can be formed at the back?
04:14I think today both goals had nothing to do with the back three, five, four,
04:22whatever it is, because it were two second balls after set-plays,
04:28I don't think we gave them many chances from open play,
04:32we didn't give them many chances in transition,
04:35but yes, they were dangerous in set-plays, we knew this,
04:38and twice we defended it, that makes it hurt much more,
04:43because we defended the set-play and conceding the goals after a clearance
04:49hurts even more than when they score a goal from where they are really good in.
05:02Oli, obviously the result means your team is just above the relegation places,
05:07you talked about nervousness, is there a nervousness at the moment,
05:10considering performances seem to be there in spells,
05:12but obviously you're not picking up points.
05:14Yes, we're not pleased having this start.
05:17I mentioned before, but I think everybody forgot because of the last seven games
05:22at the end of the season, but we've been in the same situation seven rounds
05:26before the end of the season, so we don't want to be there,
05:33we are not happy to be there, we are not happy that we don't have a win,
05:37so we also can see the players investing a lot to score a goal,
05:42to play, to create situations, and even after 2-1 we tried everything,
05:51the players played forward, but at the moment it's not going so easy.
05:58We have to now, for a long time in football, stick together,
06:07I don't know how you say it in English,
06:10two different ways you can deal with the situation,
06:16blame the other ones, blame whoever, or start with yourself changing something,
06:22and not the head in the sand, otherwise...
06:26Sleeves up.
06:28Sleeves up, and keep going, because mentality is great, character is great,
06:33and we have to get the momentum back,
06:40and we will try it next week against Liverpool, of course.
06:45Thanks a lot, everyone.
