00:00Everton failed to a disappointing late 1-0 defeat away at Southampton over the Premier League weekend.
00:05The goal came from a counter-attack after Everton had hit the bar
00:09late on in the game and before you know it the ball was at the end of the pitch
00:13and it was fired in by Armstrong for the only goal of the game in what was a real hammer blow
00:18to Everton given that they were on a five-game unbeaten run up to this point.
00:22Now, of course people are going to talk about the team selection once again like Michael Keane again
00:27starting at centre-back and of course Calvert-Lewin
00:29continuing to get that starting place at the top of the pitch even though he has really struggled
00:34at the season so far. Of course Brantway did come on late in the game for a late substitute appearance
00:39but it's clear that he should be ready to start games now and should take over from Michael Keane as Everton
00:44are clearly not playing their best XI at the current time.
00:48At right back we're still waiting for Seamus Coleman to get some minutes so we can build back up to match fitness
00:52and it's clear that Ashley Young and Coleman are the only real options right now given that Nathan Patterson
00:57who was on the bench is clearly not trusted by Dyche.
01:00Then looking at the top end of the pitch Calvert-Lewin was very much a missing figure from most of that game
01:06while Bumbetto came on he created plenty of chaos
01:09of course hit the bar with a chance that he probably should have buried
01:12but it's clear that he is itching to start and pushing to start really because Calvert-Lewin is really not offering that much into his general
01:19his general play once again and Everton really do need someone at the top of the pitch who is going to work and put those hard
01:24miles in and Beto could be that man.
01:26There's a bitter pill for Everton fans to swallow given that their record against lower
01:30half teams has been pretty good overall under Dyche
01:34and this looks like one of those games where they were maybe able just to edge it 1-0
01:38away from home and take the three points back to Goodison, but it just simply wasn't the case.
01:42Now Everton can look to a run of games that include West Ham, Brentford, Manchester United and Wolves
01:48that are games where they can probably get something out of. Of course after that they face the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool
01:55so they're going to really need to get something out of these games
01:58otherwise they're going to find themselves in a really really poor run.
02:01Fans are going to want to see something from Søren Dyche across the next few games whether it's a change
02:05in defence, bringing in Bramfoet, changing midfield perhaps or at least a change in attack
02:10whether we're going to see Beto coming for Calvert-Lewin or perhaps a change or two on the wide areas because
02:15fans are getting very frustrated right now and that frustration has probably reached a more important level
02:19to Southampton at the weekend.
