00:00After years of inactivity and failures, the area of the Matonara in the port of Civitavecchia
00:09is reborn with a new project and a great Italian player in the construction of the yachts.
00:14The President of the Port Authority of the Mar Tirreno Centro Settentrionale, Pino Musolino,
00:20in fact presents the area, today re-qualified, of the new tanko-yacht shipyard,
00:26which is preparing to become a neuralgic center for the construction and maintenance of luxury yachts.
00:31Finally, this tragic phase is closed, if I may say,
00:36in which this important part of the port has been somehow subtracted from its usability
00:41to serve the territory, to serve the community,
00:44and instead a new phase begins, where it is produced, where it is worked,
00:47where intelligence and skills will be produced, training will be done
00:51and possibly conditions for a certainly better future will be created.
00:55Tankoa, specialized in boats of more than 45 meters,
00:59has already started the production of three boats,
01:01investing so far between 5 and 6 million euros for the construction of the shipyard.
01:06The first yachts will be launched in the summer of 2025,
01:10with a strong impact on local occupation.
01:1350% of the resources used, in fact, come from the territory.
01:17We found in Civitavecchia a site that could easily be converted into a shipyard
01:27to meet the requirements we had, which was to build the hulls
01:31and superstructures, pre-arranging our boats,
01:35so as not to undermine this activity every time in different geographic areas of Italy.
01:42This will allow us to improve the work process, to optimize it
01:47and to have an area where we manage these activities on our own.
01:51The collaboration between the Port Authority and Tankoa Yachts
01:54promises to transform the area into a hub for refitting and revamping of boats,
02:00contributing not only to economic growth,
02:03but also to the formation of highly qualified workforce,
02:07relaunching the local nautical industry
02:09and opening new opportunities for the future of the Port of Civitavecchia.
02:13The recent launch of the works for the opening of the ante-mural in the south
02:17and the start of the development of the yachting marina in Civitavecchia,
02:20together with the new naval shipyard Tankoa in the town of Lamattonara,
02:24are part of a broader strategic-industrial design.
