00:00Today is an atypical press conference, because we are on the spot, that is, we are not in an office, not in a room, we are here to demonstrate with President Musolino, who is remembered to have exactly respected the times provided by the PNRR, a job that will radically change the face of the port of Civitavecchia.
00:23And he did well to do the press conference here, because you can see that operatively the work has begun, the times will be those of the PNRR, and I believe that this change will offer a complementarity to the port that so far does not have.
00:38We are perhaps one of the limits of the port of Civitavecchia, if we can define it that way, it is the absolute specialization in the cross-border sector, we are the fifth port worldwide, but perhaps the pandemic has taught us that a great resource for a port is to be complementary between various activities.
00:55So, in addition, of course, to that of goods, which is always a sector that must be enhanced, also this measure, which goes in the direction of the yachting marina, will give a different type of clientele, let's say, compared to cruising, which Civitavecchia already has in a natural way.
01:13Because, let's say, 60 km from Rome, having probably a port that has the attraction of yachts of those dimensions is certainly something that throughout the entire coast of Renica they have.
01:26As far as we are concerned, as a city, it is clear that we are obviously attentive to following this evolution, first of all because, as the President reminded us, there will be an area dedicated to the city, a recovery of the sea walk, which today unfortunately is forbidden, which will be enriched by a peninsula with green areas, entertainment for the kids, possibility of restaurants, in short, something very nice that will probably be explained to the President going further.
01:53But it's not just that, obviously, looking at the aspect of development, our great challenge is to slowly break away from that connotation that Civitavecchia has had for many years, the industrial city, gradually becoming something different.
02:10A city that begins to open not only to cruising tourism, but to a tourism of proximity also brought from a qualitative level of those who arrive, who have very important economic and financial availability.
02:25Press conferences like this serve to give citizens the correct information, the ones that respond to reality, because then it is clear that if you do not give information like this, the work you are doing is valuable, there is a question mark, you never know what will happen, why they are working.
02:43We are working, we are explaining it, President Mosolino explained it very well in the press conference, and as a mayor of this city we will make sure that this synergy between the Municipality and the authorities of the port system is explained precisely in the terms I said before, we are working in synergy to bring work, to bring a different image of the city that will be in everyone's advantage.
