00:00Hello, I'm Dolly.
00:01I'm Rachel.
00:02And welcome to Real Simple.
00:11We're going to be cooking all the stuff and watching
00:14the Dallas Cowboys on TV.
00:16I'd love to do like the turkey, all the trimmings, all the sides.
00:21Anybody that hears that Rachel's cooking
00:23want to come because she's the best cook ever.
00:25Sage dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy on it.
00:33I love the gravy.
00:34Of course, we've got to have the turkey.
00:36We are the turkey.
00:37Well, that's true.
00:43I start at least the day before, if not two days.
00:46You need to go ahead and have your desserts ready.
00:49Go ahead and have your table set so you can enjoy the day.
00:52Do you make a lot of notes?
00:53I do.
00:54I usually write out everything that I'm going to have.
00:57And then I make sure I have all my ingredients.
01:00Well, I couldn't have said it better.
01:01I'm not saying nothing is.
01:06Iron skillet.
01:06You can fry.
01:07You can cook.
01:08You can bake.
01:09Make stews.
01:10You got a big old iron skillet in the fire.
01:12You can cook about anything.
01:13You got to take care of it, of course.
01:15Like it's a treasure.
01:194 p.m. for me.
01:20That's a good time for your guests to arrive early enough
01:23that people feel like they can eat and then get home.
01:27Turkey makes you sleepy some of the time you get home.
01:29You can just go right on to bed.
01:31Go to bed.
01:35That depends on who makes the macaroni and cheese.
01:38Oh, some soup here.
01:39Yeah, somebody needs a spoon.
01:41I don't need either because I don't think.
01:43Give me some of that macaroni.
01:47Dressing.
01:48We do.
01:48But a lot of people do call it stuffing.
01:54It's a can.
01:55It's just what we grew up with.
01:56Well, I think it's because I love those little rings where you have no kind of way to slice it.
02:01And then I sometimes I'll melt it and put fresh cranberries in it.
02:05But we have learned through the years to make a great cranberry relish.
02:11Dry them.
02:12Neither.
02:13That's right.
02:14You always have to go write a song.
02:17Oh, yeah.
02:17But at that time.
02:18Well, I don't want to ruin my nails.
02:20I have to wash them if I don't want to.
02:21I know.
02:24Ask your husband.
02:27Clean as you go.
02:28Well, now that's how Rachel cooks.
02:30I don't clean up the dishes after I eat.
02:32If I've had company at night, I'll get up in the wee hours and do that.
02:35And Rachel, that would drive her crazy.
