00:00Okay then Harry, so you've been a referee for, was it 58 years? 58. 58 years and
00:07you've, how old are you now, 86? 86. Goodness me, and you're still reffing
00:12aren't you? Well I did eventually say I was packing it in. Yeah. But I've had a
00:18phone call this morning saying they're short of referees and they'd like me back
00:22refereeing again. Goodness. So I should be having a match on Saturday. Yeah, yeah,
00:27Criker, so you're never gonna give up are you? Well no, I'll keep enjoying it so I'll keep
00:32going. That's it. As long as the old eggs stand out I'll keep going. That's it, so
00:36Criker. So as I say, you started in 1966. Yes. What was the first match you reffed?
00:41I refereed Star Aluminium. Right. That was the first team I played for and
00:46there's the first team I refereed. Criker, and you've got a, you must have some
00:52memories being as you've been reffing for so long. Oh yeah. So what would you
00:56say is your most favourite match do you think? The one I enjoyed was I went to
01:00Wembley and did a Coca-Cola tournament final. Fantastic. And the other one I had
01:05I remembered very well and it was a good laugh, I really enjoyed it.
01:09Alex Hamill was the referee, he was doing a Wolverhampton Wanderers pre-season
01:17fight match down at Willingham Town. Yeah. And at half time he said to me, he says,
01:22right on you go. I got on and at the end of the game Alex said to me, he said, I sat
01:28by the manager and they didn't even know which swap referees. Well even the players didn't
01:34really. Nobody, well the players probably did, but the manager didn't. Really? Steve
01:40Daly played in that one and he remembered. Yeah, yeah, goodness me. And you've reffed Wayne
01:45Rooney as well haven't you? Yes. When was that do you think? That was, oh that was early on
01:51that was. Yeah. It was school boys, I played Wolverhampton school boys against
01:57Liverpool school boys. Yeah. And I noticed on the team sheet that Wayne Rooney was
02:03top of the list on there. Goodness me. And did he stand out at the time? I don't
02:07suppose you realised? I don't realise, I just took it as normal with just one team
02:12against another. Nobody really stood out to let me know. No, no. So you say you're
02:17reffing on Saturday again? Yeah, hopefully yes. Goodness me. Do you think you'll ever
02:21stop then? Well if my legs keep going, I'll keep going. Fantastic. So yeah, no problems.
02:28Lovely to meet you anyway Ira. I'm glad I've met you as well Tim.
