00:00New technology will only replace those who refuse to upskill, says author Justin Cohen.
00:08At the National Human Capital Conference and Exhibition 2024, Cohen urged people to embrace
00:13AI, warning against becoming a boomer who denies the existence of new technology, or
00:18a doomer who spreads fears that AI might lead to the end of the human race.
00:23Referring to Charles Darwin, he said those who adapt will thrive, with continual learning
00:27being essential to staying competitive.
00:31He also said history has proven predictions of technology causing mass unemployment to
00:35be wrong, as automation has instead created better, less arduous jobs.
00:40Cohen proposed three steps for integrating AI – activation, mastering prompt creation,
00:46and partnering with the technology.
00:49He said AI can be used for good or bad, and it's up to individuals to ask the right
00:53questions and discern answers.
00:55He added that it's about humans partnering with machines, not competing against them.
