00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has promised to reopen the investigation into the death
00:05of Teo Beng Hock after meeting his family today.
00:08Beng Hock's sister, Lee Lan, said Anwar agreed to look into the details and discuss
00:13the case with Inspector-General of Police Razeruddin Hussain.
00:16The Prime Minister has agreed to re-investigate the Ming Fu Bei Sia case.
00:24The Prime Minister has also promised to contact us if we have any problems.
00:34In a Facebook post, Anwar said the investigation will be conducted transparently and fairly,
00:38taking into account the Court of Appeals' decision in 2014.
00:42In 2009, Beng Hock, an aide to then Selangor Executive Council member Ian Yong, was found
00:47dead at Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam.
00:49In 2011, a coroner's inquest delivered an open verdict.
00:53Three years later, the Court of Appeals set aside the open verdict and ruled that Beng
00:57Hock's death was caused by multiple injuries as a result of unlawful acts by unknown persons.
