00:00The Ilocos Norte Provincial Government declares a state of calamity due to the devastation
00:05wrought by Typhoon Julián, international name Kraton.
00:08The typhoon tore through the province and left homes shattered, livelihoods in ruins,
00:12and entire communities submerged.
00:14The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office records P384 million pesos
00:19in infrastructure damage from Julián's onslaught with more than 18,000 families affected.
00:25Damage to agriculture is estimated at P87 million pesos, affecting more than 8,000
00:30farmers and more than 4,000 hectares of farmland.
00:33The Office of Civil Defense Ilocos Region said non-stop torrential rains since Sunday,
00:37September 29, turned major roads across Ilocos Norte into virtual rivers.
00:42The cities of Lawag and Batac, along with 15 other towns, experienced knee-deep to waist-level
00:47flooding.
00:48Authorities also reported two fatalities, one each in Lawag and Batac, while another
00:52person remains missing in Pauay.
