00:06tease for fans um sex hi i'm kaitlyn mcdaniel with gaiety and pride and today i am chatting

00:213rd so don't miss it and let's get into the interviews i cannot tell you how much i love
00:27this series and i'm so excited for everyone to see it i was so excited to be able to watch it
00:33it's just it's definitely everything everyone's been waiting for just to kind of start us off
00:39with a little fun question i know throughout this season we go through a couple of different
00:44seasons we go through summer some fall winter if you could choose a season that identifies
00:50with your character what would you say i think charlie's and fall slash autumn
00:58i mean spring would be the one because it's less than spring but i think he's actually more
01:01for a winter right he likes his cardigans yeah uh autumn because what he's ginger ah
01:14i love that that's perfect yeah yeah i'm saying you're ginger kit you'd know but everyone thinks
01:20he is so that'll do it that'll do it now you're putting it out there that he is everyone's gonna
01:26confirmation you have to understand they put a very golden um sort of machine on on on all
01:35the footage so it makes me look particularly ginger at times this season especially there's
01:40there's a very yeah i would i would personally say i'm more of an auburn
01:45sort of uh ready brown yeah but you know people can believe whatever they want to
01:51right you you can identify as ready brown if that's what you want if they want to believe
01:56that i'm ginger then that's great if they want to believe that i'm auburn that's great
02:01if you think i'm blonde then right then you're probably wrong but that's all right
02:06and i have to ask i mean we're going into this you've done three seasons now i just want to know
02:13from both of you what has it meant to be a part of a show that has just so much heart so much
02:18representation i think it's a real honor to be part of you know something that people actually
02:22care about rather than something that people just watch and then forget about um not to
02:27plug the show but blow the show's horn too much but yeah it's i feel very honored to be part of it
02:33yeah it's it's uh it's not that often that you can be a part of a a show that really has an
02:39impact on people it seems and and uh and that people really genuinely care about and
02:44that's a very special special feeling as an actor
02:52quiet down please boys day one of the school year don't start acting up already now
02:57is your birthday on saturday yeah can you do something uh i don't know i don't normally have
03:06a party or anything nick and charlie i'm gonna keep it down over all right and joe i want to
03:15ask i know that your character takes on a more serious plot this season so how did you go about
03:21approaching that i mean how did you take on that that element to this season yeah um i think the
03:27main thing was making sure that we did it with you know truth and authenticity and not
03:31insulting anyone or being disrespectful to anyone who's gone through um similar things um
03:38we really wanted to do it right and i i really think we all worked hard to make sure that was
03:43we did that yeah no it's definitely beautiful i can't wait for everyone to see it okay
03:51all done you look adorable i look ridiculous ridiculously adorable
04:06you sure you don't want to talk about it i just want to have a nice day okay
04:14let's do that then kit just going over to you there's a lot of new characters some furry
04:23friends that we get to see so what can you tell us about some of the new faces people will see
04:28uh well there's a new pug there's a pug uh who's who's brilliant and his name was doug
04:36which was extra special i thought i got fired and replaced no doug was
04:42he did no doug was the second oh no doug was the second one there was there was one who got who
04:49did get replaced but i'm pretty sure doug was that was the replace replacee um or replace yes
04:57replacement that's it uh no doug doug the pug was was a was a charming little man and uh and was
05:05yeah because mango was the first one oh yeah mango how do you forget a name like mango yeah
05:10well exactly but but mango was a really uh a wonderful pug but but but very very excitable
05:16and was sometimes difficult uh difficult to difficult to work with we had sort of creative
05:21differences and um and uh doug ended up sort of aligning with my uh with my uh with the way that
05:28i like to work much much more so so yeah he he got he he got to stay um but yeah he's a he's a
05:36massive part of this season and uh and just uh yeah an incredible performance really you found
05:41your chosen pug and i i love that and you also got to work with hayley atwell as your aunt in
05:48the season and unfortunately couldn't see your mom come back but how was that what can fans expect i
05:54know there's a lot of discourse about that online uh yeah i mean it was it was fantastic
06:00it was fantastic hayley's uh incredibly talented and and a real pro so um having her on was um
06:08was was a real pleasure um obviously you know to to get the news that olivia couldn't come
06:15back this season was uh was was always going to be a hard pill to swallow and
06:20but you know she's she's she's a very very very busy lady and uh rightly so she's a you know
06:28a national treasure and incredibly talented woman so um we were just lucky that we had
06:34hayley to you know do such an incredible job and um and and fill those shoes um so brilliantly and
06:41also just you know build her own little um shoes i suppose yeah it wasn't her in the
06:49shoes she was making her own she was wearing her own shoes happy birthday happy birthday
07:01are you ever going to get tired of doing that absolutely not no but i did get you a present
07:07okay
07:10it's that instagram famous historian you like chet maddox
07:14he's doing a book signing on sunday so i thought maybe we could go after the sleepover
07:18wait we get to meet him yeah going back over to you jill i know so many people are just so excited
07:24for the season is there anything that you can tease any particular scene that you enjoyed that
07:30you want to just tease for fans um sex bigger right they will they people are screaming already
07:40i can hear it probably a little bit big i don't care i'm so cold right now
07:52can you turn around when i change oh yeah um yeah of course
08:00okay
08:08and i mean just going into that how was it filming i mean getting more personal
08:12between you two and and developing your characters like that uh it was um it was wonderful it was um
08:20it was deeply deeply deeply um it was it was yeah it was it was it was great we had david
08:28daquiri our intimacy coordinator um you know not holding our hand but but but but uh looking out
08:36for us the whole way through it's a very awkward thing to film a sex scene so it made it easier
08:40yeah and uh and it was it was super necessary for the characters i think and it was uh
08:47a long time coming so
08:53sorry this is for heart stopper um so yeah it was a brilliant it was a really brilliant
08:59experience actually it really was all jokes aside it was um it was a very um lovely way
09:07to do it actually yeah i think also a way to be surrounded by people that we felt comfortable with
09:11etc a good way to like hopefully we have long careers and do a lot of sex scenes and so it was
09:16a good way to you know be introduced to that side you know it's there's i just do a lot of sex scenes
09:22so it was good a good way to introduction to that right i definitely think it's safe hands
09:28yeah yeah it is like um what uh you know i don't know i mean it's it's hard to work but it is a bit
09:34like kind of being you know having your first time in a in a way that is really you know with
09:40someone that you really trust and and although it is obviously not real you know it's still a very
09:45vulnerable situation to be in and it was i think really nice that we um were able to to to do it
09:54together god this is sending such bad signals people are gonna get so confused yeah no i i
10:02love it is there anything else you want to say just to close us out or is that the note that
10:06that we should leave on for heart stopper season three no i think i think that really the note that
10:11we should leave on is that um there are some really uh you know serious topics that we discussed in
10:18this in this season and it's really um you know hopefully we can uh have an effect on people and
10:25and and make people feel comfortable and um seen and uh you know educated in a way of how to deal
10:36with these kind of issues and how to deal with um people that they love going through these kind of
10:40issues and just you know uh again uh i think one of the most important things is learning how to
10:48ask for help and um yeah that's on a more serious note i think that's really the um the takeaway
