00:00Candidates formerly seeking office as lawmakers or leadership posts in first-time or re-electionist

00:06capacity arrived at the iconic Carino Grandstand with their cheering and screaming committees of

00:12supporters ready to mix it up with supporters from the other side if need be. Strangely and

00:18gladly enough, the supporters of candidates associated with the previous administration

00:23and those of Senator Grace Poe who ran against the former president in 2016 were in their best

00:29behavior and even joined forces to hand out water and gruel as our Luisa Erispe reports.

00:37While the filing of certificates of candidacies for the 2025 elections is getting near the end,

00:43the urge of supporters are also heating up to show their dedication for their political bets.

00:48As a matter of fact, on the third day of filing, candidates' supporters flocked to the Carino

00:54Grandstand occupying just about every conceivable space. First off, the supporters of FPJ Panday

01:00Bayanihan Partylist who were there as early as 7 in the morning. The clamor grew even stronger

01:07when Senator Grace Poe got out of the Manila Hotel alongside her son Brian Poe who filed

01:13his certificate of nomination and acceptance as a nominee for Partylist representation.

01:24But the supporters of the Partylist came across another group of supporters

01:44at the Carino Grandstand who are for the re-electionist Senator Christopher Bongo,

01:50Senator Bato de la Rosa and also for the senatorial aspirant Philip Ipe, Salvador.

01:55But instead of confrontation between the two groups, their supporters were visibly disciplined

02:00and even helped hand out porridge and water to everyone. Still, the Manila Police and the

02:05Metropolitan Manila Development Authority were on alert and controlled the crowd. Supporters were

02:11in control of themselves and remained calm. Still, the authorities had to leave a small reminder for

02:17everyone. On the other hand, before Senator Bato filed his COC, he waved and thanked the crowd of

02:41supporters and he said he has no clue on who among the family members of former President

02:47Rodigo Duterte will file their COC as a senatorial aspirant. Aside from Bato, Senator Bongo also waved

03:02and thanked his supporters and he promised to continue the programs of the previous administration

03:08and also pro-poor programs of the current administration as this is his vow as a member

03:14of the PDP Laban Party.

03:44Meanwhile, even during the afternoon, supporters continued to flock to the

03:50Carino Grandstand, especially from different partylists, namely healthcare workers,

03:55partylist aspirants, and the Ahon Mahirap partylist.
