00:00But we start, of course, with a recap of the opening game of week number five in this NFL
00:08season. Last night in Atlanta, NFC South showdown and a crucial one between the Falcons and
00:16the Bucs. Atlanta, a victory in its opening NFC South game of the year. Last week against
00:21New Orleans on a walk-off young way to field goal. How about upping that to go to overtime
00:28and handle the Buccaneers. What a wild game it was, Joe, on a Thursday in the A. Just
00:35to tell the tale, it was high scoring from the start, which is not what we had seen in
00:40the opening three weeks of a short week Thursday night football game. It was 24-17 at the break.
00:47The Buccaneers in front. We went over the pregame total of 43 and a half on the second
00:53offensive possession of the third quarter. And this is how we get to overtime. And this
01:00is where things got a little bit wacky. Early in the fourth quarter, Kate McLaughlin hits
01:06a chase. McLaughlin, excuse me, hits a 53 yard field goal to give the Bucs a 3027 lead.
01:13Atlanta tries to respond. Young way coup has a field goal attempt blocked. All right, Tampa
01:19now in control. About six and a half minutes remaining. The Buccaneers just need to ice
01:24the clock and they will win a huge road divisional game. They're driving into Atlanta territory
01:30nearing the red area. The rookie, Bucky Irving, coughs up the football. The Falcons recover.
01:37There is hope for Kirk Cousins in prime time. They get to the two minute warning. First
01:41play following the two minute warning. Oh no. What we have seen out of Kirk so many
01:46times a costly mistake in the most important spot of the game. An interception. The Bucs
01:53have it at Atlanta's 20 yard line. Game should be over. The Buccaneers lose 14 yards. They
01:59have to then punt the football and it goes for a touchback with just over a minute remaining
02:05and no timeouts. Kirk Cousins shows you the more positive aspect of what he has been known
02:11for in his NFL career. Minute 14. No timeouts. Drives the length of the field. Spikes it
02:18with a second left on the clock for young way coup to connect for more than 50 yards
02:22out Joe to send the game to OT. The Falcons get the ball first. They score a touchdown
02:28on their opening offensive possession. Cadaro Hodge grabs it and sprints the rest of the
02:33way 45 yards into the end zone. Atlanta walks it off at OT. If you're tired, if you're exhausted
02:40from just hearing me describe the game last night, that's how wonderful of a thriller
02:45we had an OT in Atlanta. The Falcons victorious 36 to 30. So much for those prime time unders.
02:54Not so much last night. I think there was just one punt in the first half alone and
02:59that was by the Falcons. I mean, it was a great back and forth game and Tampa Bay just
03:06could not stop the passing attack of Kurt Cousins, which is why he threw for over 500
03:13yards and over 50 attempts. But to me, this all came down to situational and awareness
03:18been in the final two minutes. And you talked about it there. The David interception was
03:25on a fourth and 15. Had he just smacked the ball down, not intercepted it, they would
03:34have taken the ball over at the Atlanta 20 yard line. Instead, they ended up taking it
03:39over on the 35 yard line and then proceeded to lose 40 or 13 yards rather in the next
03:46couple of plays, a holding penalty. Rashid Weiss lost a couple of yards. Bucky Irving
03:51lost the yard on third down. And now Tampa ended up losing a total of 14 yards after
03:56the interception, could not try a field goal and instead had the punt. And the rest is
04:02they as they say, history. So unfortunately, great interception. Levante David, I would
04:08have much rather you have just batted the ball down and taking the ball over at the
04:1320 yard line.
