00:00And we start in Ames, where Iowa State remains unbeaten.
00:07The Cyclones, 11 and a half point favorite, Kev, against the Baylor, 45 and a half.
00:12Is that total?
00:13The Cyclones, one of the five best scoring defenses in college football.
00:18For Dave Aranda and the Bears, they get beat on a Hail Mary in Boulder two weeks ago.
00:23All right, bounce back in Waco against the Vampires that are the BYU Cougars.
00:28They got routed early, unable to muster up a comeback.
00:32How important is this game today in Ames?
00:34So for Iowa State, it's really important.
00:38I'm sure many of you have seen, they come out pretty weekly, if the playoff began today.
00:44And consistently now, this week, we've seen the Iowa State Cyclones host, or not hosting,
00:50having the buy-in, being the fourth team in that playoff.
00:53And I don't know how many of you out there take the time, but I just, you know, exercise,
00:56all right, I think, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, constantly just move right past
00:59Iowa State, right?
01:00Like, all right, they're going to get beat by whomever that fifth seed is, assuming they
01:03beat the 12th seed kind of situation.
01:07One of the ways, though, that Iowa State, I think, can change that perception is Rocco
01:10Beck hitting the next level.
01:12Rocco Beck, as a freshman, was excellent, averaging 8.5 yards per pass attempt.
01:17So far, through four weeks, it's about 8.4, which is good.
01:20You want improvement year over year.
01:23And that's what I look at with Iowa State this season, is offensively, they look like
01:28a team that, if they do win the Big 12, when they play in the second round of the CFP,
01:34is going to get steamrolled here.
01:36And I think Beck could break out, because Baylor's defense is bad, Dave Aranda's not
01:41on a hot seat, Dave Aranda is fired, it's just a matter of when they announce that,
01:45that's how bad it's gone for, I think, here in Waco, I don't see any saving of it.
01:49Beck breakout is how I would look for this game.
01:51Yeah, BYU attacked them over the top, I mean, especially with the passing attack.
01:55I think from the spread perspective, I sort of lean to Baylor in a bounce back spot to
02:00keep it close.
02:01They've won three of the last five in regards to the series, so typically, even though the
02:06game is in names, I lean to the Bears, with Sawyer Robertson, to maybe make it a game.
02:12Lean to the over as well, in regards to the matchup, Kevin's point, I mean, they blew
02:17right through that total with BYU last week, in regards to almost 60 points, right?
02:22So again, Aranda's gone, we know that.
02:27I just think in this particular spot, this is an opportunity where it's 12, 11 1⁄2,
02:32I like the Bears, everybody was on the Bears last week against BYU, nobody's on them, somewhat
02:38rivalry game, I'll take Baylor with the points.
02:41Genor Sanders, two weeks ago against Baylor, threw for more than 340 yards.
02:45If Rocco Beck does have that breakout, keep an eye on two of his top targets that are
02:49as good as you will see in the Big 12, Jay Lenoil and Jaden Higgins.
02:53Jay Lenoil, the lesser of the two receiving yards props today, at 54 1⁄2.
02:58Iowa State, consistent on the defensive side of the football, off to the best start in
03:03program history, at least in the last two decades, and a perfect 3-0 against the spread
03:08against FBS competition.
03:10Kev, you said this during Ben's Top 10, when you look at the AP poll, 16 through 20, four
03:15of those five schools from the Big 12 in Oklahoma now in SEC program.
03:20Iowa State is the Big 12 title favorite.
03:23Iowa State is the highest ranked team in the AP Top 25, checking in at 16th nationally.
