00:00One of the surprises so far through five weeks of this NFL season, the Washington
00:08Commanders, the best record in the NFC East at four and one, four consecutive
00:15wins for Washington led by their rookie quarterback, Jaden Daniels.
00:20Yesterday, they got to take advantage at home against one of the worst teams in
00:25the NFL and potentially the worst starting quarterback in the National
00:27Football League. That is Deshaun Watson. 34-13, the win for the Commanders,
00:34easily covering as a three-point home favorite. DRS, there was actually a part
00:39of me that said everything, that we have seen everything this year. One and three
00:43Cleveland team entering, three and one Washington team entering on a three-game
00:47win streak. The Commanders should cruise to a win, but it just felt like that
00:50trappy spot on the Sunday slate where if Cleveland has anything this year, they
00:56might be able to pull off an upset. Four consecutive wins for Washington,
01:01covering in all four, two outright as an underdog, and two covering the number as
01:06a favorite as well. The Commanders over in three straight, 21-point win.
01:12Washington entered a statement at home yesterday against the really bad
01:17Cleveland Browns. They are really bad, but let's focus on the good here. The
01:20Washington Commanders, 34-13, that offense really coming into his own.
01:24Jaden Daniels did have an interception yesterday, but it didn't matter in the
01:27game when they were playing the Browns. I like what I see, and also this stems
01:30back from the offseason. You take a look at changing the head coach, changing the
01:34offensive coordinator, it's worked out in spades. Dan Quinn comes in, calms the
01:38waters there. You have an exciting offensive coordinator that's using some
01:40tendencies back in his college football days in Cliff Tingsbury, and it's working
01:44out really well in an ultra-efficient offense, something that you really don't
01:47talk about with Cliff Tingsbury, but also the players, Ben, that they added in the
01:51offseason, making a lot of non-spy, like, hey, superstar players coming in. No, guys
01:56like Austin Eckler came back off the concussion, Ben. Six carries, 67 yards, two
02:00catches for 30 yards. You take a look also at some of the other running backs
02:03chipping in. McNichols has been fine. Robinson's banged up and still scored
02:06two touchdowns yesterday. It's all working out. Dan Quinn, you know, is gonna
02:10be bringing that defensive heat, and he's been doing that the past couple weeks
02:13here. This isn't a fluky 4-1 because you can no longer say, well, they're
02:17playing really bad defenses and bad football teams. I don't know. They
02:20absolutely smashed the Cardinals, who went on the road and beat the 49ers on
02:24the road yesterday, so it's no longer any given Sunday, oh, they're getting lucky.
02:28No, this is a really good football team. You know what getting lucky has been?
02:3117-16, 15-14, 13-12. The commanders are laying it on people on offense, and it's
02:37a lot of fun to watch. I'm really impressed, and at 4-1, there is
02:40reason to believe that, A, they can be a playoff team, and quite frankly, maybe,
02:43able to win the NFC East. I like everything that I'm seeing from the
02:47commanders right now.
