00:07President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. will head to Laos today to attend the ASEAN Summit.

00:13According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, the President is expected to lead the Philippines' position in the West Philippine Sea.

00:20He will also participate in the ASEAN Zero Emission Community Leaders' Meeting, which will highlight the green economy.

00:26In addition to the DFA, the President will help some ASEAN leaders, including the other heads of state from Canada, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Japan, to advance the country's interests.

00:39The Philippine National Police has already submitted a list of areas that are considered potential election areas of concern.

00:47According to PNP Spokesperson Colonel Gene Fajardo,

00:50they are currently under the validation of areas that are hotly contested by politicians.

00:55Last year, the PNP listed 108 areas that were under the red category.

01:02PNP Spokesperson Colonel Command Lek advised to consider which areas will be under the red category.

01:08Areas that are heavily contested by politicians or are not security-concerned?

01:14Former Cavite Governor John Vic Remulia was formally appointed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the new Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government, or DILG.

01:25Today, Remulia was appointed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

01:29Remulia served as Governor of Cavite in 2010.

01:32He was also nominated as People of the Year by People's Asia Magazine in 2013.

01:37DILG Secretary Benhar Avalos Jr. will be re-elected to run for Senator in the next election.

01:47In a recent news report, the Department of Foreign Affairs, or DFA, confirmed that a Filipino was detained in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for killing a Saudi national.

01:57The Philippines has been appealing for a long time for the protection of a Filipino,

02:01but the family of the Saudi national refused to process the blood money.
