00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has recognized the efforts of the Philippine National Police to release and arrest KOJC leader Apollo Quibuloy.
00:10As of now, according to the President, there are no extradition requests for Quibuloy, who is facing cases in the United States.
00:19Bian Manalo is in the center of the news.
00:23I'm happy that, I'm glad that this is over. We can now resolve and look at the allegations that have been made against him.
00:35That was the statement of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. following the surrender of Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quibuloy to the authorities last night,
00:45after 16 days of searching and searching for evidence.
00:50According to President R. Marcos Jr., Quibuloy's case is now in the hands of the court.
00:57It is now in the court's hands. It is no longer in the hands of the executive.
01:01But for the moment, we are not looking for extradition.
01:06What we are looking for are the cases, the complaints that were filed here in the Philippines.
01:12And that is what he needs to face first.
01:15The President also acknowledged the efforts of the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines in the arrest of Pastor Quibuloy.
01:23But let's be very clear. This was a police-led operation. It was a police operation.
01:29Whatever the involvement of the AFP there, as I said, augmentation.
01:34I have to commend our PNP.
01:39This is police work at its best.
01:44In regards to Quibuloy's surrender, the executive clearly stated that he was forced to go out because the police were about to arrest him.
01:55Based on the President's contact, the AFP asked the Pastor to attend his surrender because he did not trust the police.
02:05It is not clear if we did not chase him.
02:09What happened is that he was forced to go out because the police were about to arrest him.
02:14As of now, Pastor Apolo Quibuloy is in the custody of the Philippine National Police
02:19who is facing a case of violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
02:27BN Manalo for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
