00:08Dismissed Mambantarlak Mayor Alice Guo is not running for re-election in 2025.
00:13This is contrary to what her lawyer, Stephen David, said earlier.
00:17Asked what made her change her mind, Guo says in a Senate hearing Tuesday, October 8, she
00:21wanted to face allegations against her.
00:23Before Tuesday, Guo was reportedly eyeing either re-election or running for Pampanga
00:28The ombudsman dismissed Guo from service, while the Solicitor General initiated a separate
00:34case to challenge her right to hold public office.
00:37Guo is currently detained at the Pasig City Jail over charges of human trafficking.
00:42She is also facing other cases, including graft, tax evasion and money laundering.
