00:00Are you curious about what the President of the Philippines is living like?
00:04Let's take a look at it for the first time in the first news of Jonathan Andal.
00:12This is the President's residence inside Malacanang Park.
00:17And for the first time, it was shown to the media.
00:22This is the newly renovated President's house.
00:30When you enter the compound gate, it feels like you're on vacation.
00:37It feels like you're at a resort.
00:40But that was the intention when they designed this Presidential Residence.
00:47So that when the President comes home from work, he can relax.
00:53The First Lady really wanted to make it feel like a resort.
00:58I asked the architect, he said, it's like Asian modern.
01:03First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos has a personal touchdown on the design of the house.
01:09She was the one who chose the furniture here, which she mostly bought in Pampanga.
01:15But one part of this that the First Lady really used is the pool area.
01:21Because every morning, she goes swimming as an exercise.
01:25The President also works out regularly in his own home gym that has a cardio machine and weights.
01:32Every Sunday, his family gathers here to miss and hang out.
01:37Only the two of them live here.
01:39But on Sundays, the Marcos family gathers here.
01:42You can see there are paintings here.
01:44These are the paintings that were placed inside the palace of Malacanang.
01:48But they took them out so that they can be seen and not be touched.
01:51These are the paintings of the national artist, Fernando Amorzolo.
01:58This is the personal quarters of the First Couple.
02:01This is where they sleep.
02:02Inside this is the study area of President Bongbong Marcos.
02:07There are also many games for kids here,
02:09such as billiards, Pac-Man arcade machine, board games, and racing simulator
02:15that President's son Vincent Marcos often uses.
02:19Overlooking here is the palace of Malacanang,
02:21in the middle of which is the Pasig River.
02:24Before it was named the President's House,
02:26it was first called the House of Dreams,
02:28where the previous presidents also lived.
02:31But when President Marcos resigned in 2022,
02:34the entire house was renovated.
02:36It was said that the problem with the old House of Dreams was the floods.
02:41We raised the elevation.
02:44So even if the Pasig River rose,
02:46the water wouldn't enter.
02:48We also installed a sump pump.
02:50Now, it's like a floating slab.
02:54So even if the ground shakes,
02:56the slab won't shake.
02:58The new design of the President's House is said to be durable.
03:01It can last for 20 to 50 years
03:05and will be passed on to the next presidents.
03:08This is the first news in Malacanang.
