00:00Growth, Investments, Sustainability. These are key words when it comes to focusing on perspectives for the end of the year 2024 in the energy market. I would like to consult you on this.
00:14Investments is a very important word in this context. One of the challenges we face in the energy world is the lack of investments.
00:30In recent years, investments in the oil sector have not been enough for the growth of demand that we see in the future.
00:40Two weeks ago, we launched our World Oil Outlook, which is a research document that we do every year.
00:52This time, we extend the period to 2050, where we launch our vision for the world on the growth of demand for primary energy,
01:08for oil, for the growth of the world economy, which we see is going to double in size compared to today until 2050,
01:19for the growth of the world population, which is going to rise from 8 billion today to 9.7 billion in 2050.
01:30There are also two very fundamental elements, energy poverty in parts of the world. Today we have almost 700 million people who do not have access to electricity.
01:45We have urbanization, which is very important. We have almost 600 million people who will mobilize to create new cities in the world by 2030.
01:57All these are the most important factors that lead us to the conclusion that the world will need much more energy.
02:06We say energy, all sources of energy, not just oil. Oil, gas, solar, wind, all forms of energy that will be important for the future, for the growth of the world.
