00:00Uh, Christopher Mad Dog Russo, our guest, uh, at Mad Dog Unleashed on Twitter, ESPN's
00:03first take, High Heat on MLB Network, and of course, Mad Dog Unleashed on Mad Dog Radio,
00:08where I worked for a long time.
00:09Doggy, one of my old bosses.
00:10You did.
00:11We absolutely love it.
00:12I did.
00:13Did a good job, too.
00:14You did.
00:15You were very good.
00:16You took it on.
00:17You've done a great job here.
00:18Good opportunity for you.
00:19Excellent.
00:20Appreciate you, my man.
00:21Um, Doggy, I think the New York Mets, team of destiny, beat the Dodgers if they play
00:25them in the NLCS.
00:27More of a coin flip against the Padres.
00:29If the Mets play the Yankees, and I'm a big Yankee fan, I'm going to want to walk into
00:32traffic if the Mets beat the Yankees in the World Series, in the Subway Series.
00:36I think they would.
00:37Am I nuts thinking that the Mets are this year's team of destiny in Major League Baseball?
00:43No, you're not.
00:44And I happen to—
00:45How do you view the Mets?
00:46Uh, just like you do.
00:47Uh, they've been the best team in baseball since June 1st.
00:50Uh, they've had a lot of drama and a lot of dramatics in the last couple weeks of the
00:55season.
00:56We all know about the Lindor-Homer in Atlanta.
00:57We all know about what Alonzo—Alonzo did last Thursday against the, um, against Milwaukee.
01:03We saw the Grand Slam last night.
01:05Alonzo's hit two homers since.
01:07The Mets got a lot of juice right now.
01:10And I'll tell you one thing the Mets have.
01:11They got their pitching organized.
01:13They got four pitchers they can use if you include—I'm not even counting Senga, because
01:17you got Peterson, Quintana, uh, Mania, and Severino.
01:22Nobody else has got four pitchers.
01:23You know, the Yankees can't count on Rendon.
01:26Who knows on Heal?
01:27The Dodgers don't.
01:28San Diego lost Musgrove.
01:29They don't.
01:30Kansas City doesn't.
01:31Detroit doesn't.
01:32The Mets got very good starting pitching.
01:35Now, their bullpen is their—is their, uh, scenario where you'd be nervous, because they
01:39do not have a good bullpen.
01:40It's not trustworthy.
01:41I'd be nervous about the Mets' bullpen.
01:44But they have a good lineup.
01:45They have unbelievable juice.
01:47And you know, they are gonna be a pain in the neck for them in the next round and beyond.
01:51I could definitely see them winning a World Championship from here on in.
01:55Uh, I think they're better off playing L.A. than San Diego.
01:58I think the Padres, if they get by tomorrow, uh, I think that—if I was a Met fan, I'd
02:03root for the Dodgers, because they're wounded more so than rooting for San Diego, and plus
02:07San Diego will get a lot of extra juice for winning a fifth game on the road.
02:11So I would want the Dodgers to win tomorrow, uh, myself, because the Dodger pitching is
02:15a mess.
02:16King would pitch game one against the Mets on Sunday night.
02:19That would worry me.
02:20But I'm with you, Nick.
02:21I could definitely see them—I don't see the Royals winning it.
02:25Um, you know, uh, I—I—I don't—I think the Dodgers are too wounded.
02:29I don't even see them winning it.
02:30The Yankees are a little—I don't see where the magic is for them.
02:33They stink.
02:34Detroit, with this bullpen, is gonna run out eventually.
02:37I'm with you.
02:38I could definitely see the Mets winning it all.
02:39And if they play the Dodgers, I think they're gonna win it.
02:42I think the Padres are the team that can pick the Mets off, because of their lineup and
02:46their bullpen.
