00:00After more than half a year of silence, the Senate will now continue the investigation into the allegations made against the religious leader, Apollo Kibuloy, Daniel Manalastas, in detail.

00:17Now that the Senate's hearing on Alice Guo and the talks of POCOS in the country is over,

00:23the allegations against the religious leader and prisoner, Apollo Kibuloy, will continue.

00:27On October 23, the Senate Committee on Women and Children approved the continuation of the hearing, which lasted for more than half a year.

00:35The committee will now write to the court to have Kibuloy face the Senate's hearing.

00:40In the months since the hearing ended, there were new victims who were identified in Senator Risa Honteveros' office.

00:48Some of the victims are now witnesses, and there are new victims who were caught by the justice system.

01:02That's the only way to confront the former leader.

01:06Honteveros also reaffirmed Kibuloy's commitment to run as a senator in the 2025 election.

01:12One of their studies is how to change the provision in the law to allow him to run.

01:18They should be ashamed of the heavy cases they are facing, such as trafficking, abuse.

01:28Lawmakers should be the ones to vote, not lawbreakers.

01:33But Senate President Francis Escudero, Kibuloy's right to run in the election,

01:38He's not yet convicted by final judgment for disqualifying him from running, sitting, or holding a position in the government.

01:46Conviction by final judgment for the crimes he committed, including the accessory penalty, is an absolute professional disqualification to hold public office.

01:57But he's not yet convicted.

01:59Honteveros said that Kibuloy has not yet given an intention to help, but they will discuss this with the committee.
