Following its success in Haryana, the BJP is energized for Maharashtra's assembly polls. The NDA has nearly finalized its seat-sharing deal, with BJP contesting 140-150 seats, Shiv Sena 80-90, and NCP 40-50. However, 47 seats remain contested due to overlapping claims between the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar). Extensive consultations between state and national leaders have been key to this arrangement.

00:00After the grand success in Haryana, the BJP is now powered up more than ever before.
00:27The outcomes of 4th June had jolted the ND alliance but now, things appear to be running
00:32smooth again.
00:34As Maharashtra now gears up for the assembly polls, the National Democratic Alliance, also
00:39known as the Mahayati, has now finalised its seat-sharing agreement, as per a report from
00:46Economic Times.
00:47However, 47 seats remain unresolved due to overlapping claim between the Shiv Sena, Eknath
00:54Shinde and NCP Ajit Pawar.
00:58As per Economic Times, after extensive consultation involving the state and national leaders,
01:03the BJP is set to contest approximately 140-150 seats out of the 288 assembly seats.
01:10Meanwhile, Shiv Sena will contest on 80-90 seats and NCP will take approximately 40-50.
01:20The BJP plans to fight across all the regions of Maharashtra, meanwhile, Shiv Sena and NCP
01:26will like to focus on their areas of influence.
01:31To enhance the coordination, each party has appointed a coordinator for each assembly
01:36seat.
01:37The BJP has so deployed leaders from neighbouring state to oversee the different regions, for
01:43instance, the leaders from Telangana and Chhattisgarh are managing the Marathwada region, meanwhile,
01:49Madhya Pradesh BJP leaders are handling Vidarbha.
01:55Karnataka BJP leaders are deployed in Western Maharashtra and Gujarat BJP leaders are overseeing
01:59the North Maharashtra and particularly the parts of Mumbai.
02:04The Goa leaders are working in the Konkan region, which along with Mumbai comprises
02:09of 75 seats.
02:12The leaders are currently conducting ground surveys and gathering feedback from party
02:16workers on potential candidates.
02:19And based on the feedback, the BJP is likely going to decide the candidate for each seat
02:23by the mid of this October.
02:26Additionally, these leaders are also engaging with party workers who were previously dissatisfied
02:32to secure their support ahead of the election.
02:37Same goes with Shiv Sena.
02:38However, despite the preparation, the Mahayutra Alliance can face a major challenge due to
02:44Ajit Pawar's recent actions, which have raised concern about the commitment to the coalition.
02:51In a recent cabinet meeting, Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the
02:55leader of Nationalist Congress Party, left the cabinet meeting in just a short span of
03:0010 minutes.
03:03During the remaining two and a half hours, 38 decisions with significant financial implications
03:08were made without his presence.
03:10Some insiders are speculating that Pawar may be unhappy and the sudden influx of urgent
03:16proposals brought to the cabinet are the major reason.
03:20His finance department has also raised several objections due to such proposals.
03:25Although Ajit Pawar has not commented on anything, the NCP State Unit Chief Sunil Tatkare has
03:32also dismissed any rumours of friction between the Mahayutra Alliance partners.
03:37Nonetheless, the sudden departure of Pawar from the cabinet meeting and the ongoing unresolved
03:43seat-sharing agreement suggest potential challenges ahead for the Mahayuti Coalition, also known
03:49as the NDA.
