00:55announced its seed-sharing formula for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections.
01:00Out of the 81 assembly seats in the state, the JMM and Congress will contest 17, while
01:07the remaining 11 will be divided between the RJD and Left parties.
01:11Chief Minister Hemant Soren made the announcement in Ranchi today, alongside Congress leader
01:16Gulam Ahmed Mir.
01:18The decision has been met with dissatisfaction from the RJD, which called the allocation
01:23of seats unilateral.
01:25RJD spokesperson Manoj Kumar Jha expressed disappointment with the seed-sharing arrangement,
01:32stating that the party's leadership was not adequately consulted and hinted that all options
01:38were open moving forward.
01:40In the 2019 elections, the RJD contested seven seats but managed to win only one, while JMM
01:47and Congress fared much better.

03:02first list of 66 candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections in the evening
03:08today, according to which party's state chief, Babulal Marandi, will contest from Dhanwar,
03:14Lobin Hembram to contest from Boreo, Sita Soren will contest from Jantara, former CM
03:20Champai Soren will contest from Saraikela, Geeta Balmuju to contest from Chaibasa, Geeta
03:26Koda will contest from Jagannathpur and Meera Munda is set to contest from Potka.
03:32On the other hand, the Election Commission of India has directed the state government
03:37to remove Acting Director General of Police, DGP Anurag Gupta from his position, a decision
03:43that could impact the administrative setup ahead of the elections.
03:49Shifting our focus to Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayati alliance, comprising the Bharatiya
03:54Janata Party, BJP, the Shiv Sena faction led by CM Eknath Shinde and the Nationalist Congress
04:01Party, NCP faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has reached a seat-sharing agreement
04:08for 260 of the state 288 assembly seats. According to sources, the BJP will contest 142 seats
04:16while the Shiv Sena will contest 66 and the NCP 52. However, the remaining 28 seats are
04:23still under negotiation as claims and counterclaims between the three allies continue.
04:28The Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to arrive in Mumbai tomorrow to formally announce
04:33the final seat-sharing agreement at the joint press conference. The Mahayati alliance is
04:38keen to finalise all arrangements ahead of the November 20 election date.
04:44On the opposition front, the Mahavikas Agadi, which includes the Udhav Thackeray-led Shiv
04:49Sena, Congress and NCP faction led by Sharad Pawar, has reportedly reached a consensus
04:55on 200 assembly seats. However, disputes over 25-30 seats remain unsolved, creating a deadlock
05:03within the alliance.
05:04Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole has stated that the party's high command is being
05:09consulted and they will abide by whatever decision is made regarding these contentious
05:15seats.
05:16This assembly election will be the first since the major splits in the Shiv Sena and NCP
05:21in year 2022 and 2023 respectively, making it a crucial political battleground for both
