Having arrived in Hollywood in 1935 after winning a beauty contest sponsored by the Balaban and Katz Theater Corporation, Rosemary LaBie made her debut with an uncredited role in William Nigh's His Night Out. Taking the stage name of Diana Gibson, she was noticed by Carl Laemmle Jr. in a nightclub where she was performing as a dancer. The producer offered her an audition thanks to which the young actress obtained a contract with Universal Pictures and the part of Ruth Denning in Dangerous Waters by Lambert Hillyer. Between 1936 and 1937 she took part in sixteen films (in many cases uncredited), including the serial The Phantom Rider by Ray Taylor, Behind the Headlines by Richard Rosson and Adventure's End by Arthur Lubin. She made her final appearance in 1939 in John M. Stahl's All That Eve, after which she left Hollywood to settle in Pennsylvania. She continued to act in local theater productions, while also doing charity work for the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon and working as treasurer for the Lebanon News Publishing Company, where her husband Jack Schropp was general manager. In the mid-1950s, she hosted the television programs Know Your Hospital and The Talk of the Town on WLBR-TV. After her husband's death in 1983, she moved to Coral Gables, Florida, where she spent the last years of her life. She is buried in the Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania.
