00:00The various branches of the government, private sector, and organizations in other countries will be joining the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
00:12This line will be able to form a more effective and fast response to the effects of disaster and calamity.

00:21Strengthening the various strategies that are related to disaster risk reduction that can save many lives and livelihoods in times of disaster and calamity.
00:36This is what will be given at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction that will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center from October 14 to October 18.
00:50President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is expected to attend the conference.
00:55He was the first to order the establishment of the Disaster Resilience of the Nation.
01:00This is the first time that the Philippines will be the host country of the APM CDRR.
01:07The international, national, and civil society organizations, private sector, science, academe, and stakeholder groups will be here.
01:18Our target is 3,000 participants from October 14 to 18 in the PICC.
01:24But for now, only 4,000 delegates have registered.
01:30We hope that our countrymen will be able to be a part of the APM CDRR.
01:39The APM CDRR is the main platform of the Asia and the Pacific region to monitor, review, and strengthen cooperation for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 at the regional level.
01:55It will also provide an important opportunity to review risk reduction efforts, share innovative solutions, and make actionable commitments to increase disaster risk reduction by 2030, especially for countries that are considered a disaster-prone region.
02:16There will also be a session called Enhancing Capacity and Resources for Local Resilience, where best practices in capacity-building opportunities, assessments of local resilience initiatives, and efficient resources allocation will be discussed.
02:33Multi-hazard early warning systems will also be discussed.
02:36In addition to the DNR, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, and Department of Defense National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Civil Defense will also be present.
02:51More than 4,000 delegates from almost 70 countries who have joined the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction are expected to attend the conference.
03:02Because of this, the Manila Police District emphasized the security and orderliness of the area.
03:08We already have a security plan for the area where our personnel are already prepared.
03:13Actually, this morning, they were already preparing security operations.
03:18We are already checking the areas that are being targeted.
03:22We have already deployed our personnel in Manila alone. We have around 550 personnel.
03:29As part of the conference, all government offices and classes in Manila and Pasay City were cancelled on October 14 and October 15.
03:41The MMDA also implemented a stop-and-go scheme from October 12 to October 19 on the routes that delegates will travel from the airport to hotels in Pasay, Manila, and Makati to the PICC Complex.
03:57For the time being, Halandone Street in the PICC Complex will be closed to motorists.
