00:00The number of evacuees in flood-hit Johor, Kedah and Perak recorded an increase again on Sunday with more districts affected by the disaster in the three states.
00:10In Kedah, the flood situation worsened, with more than 2,000 people evacuated to 19 Temporary Relief Centres, PPS, across six districts in the state.
00:21Kedah was asked about the bill after launching the LawAsia conference held in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
00:27The bill aims to provide a definition for Ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah, which has a theology based on the Al-Ashr.
00:34He noted that around 680 families were relocated after floods inundated their homes over the past few days.
00:41Muhammad Suhaimi advised residents in high-risk areas to be prepared for potential flooding and to remain alert in case of sudden rises in water levels.
00:51In Kampung Haji Abbas in Baling, the Fire and Rescue Department rescued three villagers, including a senior citizen, after they became trapped in a flood around 3 a.m.
01:02The victims were found clinging to trees to avoid being swept away by the strong flood currents.
01:08In Johor, two more PPS were opened in Kluang and Kulai, respectively, as the number of victims in the state increased to 147 people Sunday morning.
01:19With heavier rainfalls expected to occur in the coming days, the Johor Fire and Rescue Department is urging the public,
01:26in particular those living in non-flood-prone areas, to always take precautionary measures to safeguard themselves.
01:34Director Siti Rohani Nadir said currently, many localities in Johor were experiencing heavy rainfalls as the country was transitioning towards the northeast monsoon season.

01:53Siti Rohani said the authorities have detected a total of 745 locations at risk of flooding throughout Johor this year, which is the highest ever recorded so far.
02:08In Perak, the Secretariat of the State Disaster Management Committee said that the number of flood victims increased slightly to about 160 people Sunday morning.
