00:00So, a really concerning story coming out of Melbourne this morning.
00:06Staff for the Labor MP, Peter Kalil, arrived at the office this morning and they could
00:12see that there was red paint on the exterior of the building.
00:17There was also an upside down red triangle, which is a symbol that has been associated
00:24with Hamas, which has indicated that it's a military target.
00:29That's the symbol that Hamas has used in the past.
00:32And then also, probably most concerning, a liquid inside Peter Kalil's Melbourne office.
00:41Peter Kalil's office has been vandalised before, but Peter Kalil, who is also the Envoy for
00:47Social Cohesion, thinks this is an escalation.
00:51He's pointing to the fact that there is this symbol that's been painted on the back door
00:56of his office, also this unknown liquid that has been sprayed or poured inside the building.
01:03Police are investigating this and there's actually a team on site there at the moment.
01:09Hazmat teams have been there.
01:10There's a team on site there at the moment, testing what this liquid that has been poured
01:16or sprayed into the building actually is.
01:19At the moment, there's still a stench emanating from the building.
01:25Here is what Peter Kalil has had to say about that.
01:29The spell was unbearable.
01:30You couldn't, even from the outside, it was very difficult.
01:33So people went in, the hazmat team went in with their suits and their oxygen masks to
01:38take the test, test the material.
01:40There's a lab here that they're going through the initial test to ensure, to find out what
01:45it is.
01:46So it's an active crime scene in that respect.
