00:04a witness was found to be involved in the illegal operation of POGOS in the Philippines.

00:14Now, a witness has been found to be involved in the illegal operation of POGOS in the Philippines.

00:19The Department of Justice said that the connection of Alice Guo or Guo Ping with POGOS in the Philippines is now clearer.

00:26According to Justice Undersecretary Nicholas T., the mention of a witness to Guo

00:31is connected to the boss of POGOS, Boss Boga,

00:36who may have evidence against the former mayor.

00:40There will be more evidence against Alice Guo and her colleagues.

00:45For us, the evidence is heavy,

00:47but this new witness found by POGOS will add to the strength of our investigation against Alice Guo.

00:58In the mention of the witness, who is also known as Madam Mua,

01:03even in Lucky South 99 or Porak, Pampanga, DOJ's gate,

01:08it has been coming out for a long time in their investigation,

01:11the operation of POGOS in Bamban, Tarlac.

01:14But this is still additional evidence for the cases and complaints filed against Guo.

01:20It is possible that the missing witness may be under the Witness Protection Program.

01:25The Witness Protection Program may be included there.

01:29It depends on their discussion with the law enforcement and the prosecutors who are interviewing her.

01:34The importance of the case, as I said earlier, is just additional evidence.

01:40But for now, for us, the evidence against Alice Guo is already strong.

01:46It should be noted that Alice Guo already has a case in court,

01:50a qualified human trafficking in person, in Pasig City Regional Trial Court.

01:55DOJ has previously said that it is already included in the Presidential Organized Crime Commission

02:00that it is possible to add more cases against Guo.

02:04Meanwhile, aside from the encounter with the illegal POGO,

02:07DOJ has also pointed out the cases of trafficking in the Philippines

02:11that are being done by surrogate mothers in other countries.

02:15DOJ said, just this Friday,

02:17they were able to save two newly born victims

02:21and on the very same day, it was discovered.

02:24These were included in the inquest proceedings.

02:27For the 20 Filipinas who were victims of surrogacy modus operandi in Cambodia,

02:32they were already planning to return to the Philippines

02:35while the 13 were still monitoring the situation.

02:38They will receive assistance from the government.

02:41And because they are victims of human trafficking,

02:44they can receive from the government

02:46the various benefits provided by human trafficking,

02:48including psychosocial support,

02:51assistance,

02:53efforts to reintegrate them in society and give them a better life.

02:58And most importantly,

03:00non-criminality is also included.

03:02So if they are committing a crime,

03:05as a trafficking victim,

03:08they should not be responsible for these crimes.

03:10DOJ is also working with the Department of Foreign Affairs

03:14and the Embassy of the Philippines in Cambodia

03:17to prevent the Filipino victims of surrogacy in Cambodia.
