00:00Hi there. Three days or so of rain, showers and a keen breeze, especially on Wednesday
00:07and Thursday before the weather settles down for the weekend. Certainly some wet weather
00:12out there on Monday night. A batch of showers along the spells of rain moving through central
00:16and southern parts of the UK. It's more persistent wet weather for the north-east of Scotland.
00:21Further showers running into west and north-west coast through the night as well. Odd rumble
00:25of thunder towards the south-west. But away from the showers there will be some clear
00:30spells, particularly later for northern parts of the country. And where we get those clear
00:34spells are fresh, almost chilly starts to Tuesday. Some sunshine around first thing,
00:41however it's not entirely dry. We've still got those coastal showers into the west, further
00:45showers in the south and quite widely by mid-morning. Showers popping up just about anywhere and
00:52they'll be lively in places, particularly in the south, the risk of hail and thunder
00:56where these showers occur. A keen breeze in the north-east, making it feel cool. But further
01:01south, lighter winds, temperatures around average. And away from the showers, particularly
01:06later and particularly towards the west, there will be some sunny spells and drier interludes.
01:11The focus for showers during Tuesday evening, increasingly in the east. A slot of clearer,
01:17drier weather crosses the country from the west. Under those clear skies, temperatures
01:22falling away with the touch of ground frost possible for some sheltered spots in Scotland.
01:29But not lasting long because by the start of Wednesday, more wet and windy weather pushes
01:34in from the west. A damp and fairly blustery start for Scotland, Northern Ireland, western
01:40parts of England and Wales. The jet stream really revving up during the next couple of
01:45days, pushing these features in from the Atlantic, deepening some areas of low pressure to the
01:51north of the UK and making it, well, fairly unseasonable for most of us. So a wet and
01:57windy start for northern and western parts of the country. A bright start for the south-east,
02:01doesn't last long, it soon turns cloudy and breezy here with some light showers later.
02:06And the rain in the west as it moves east, turns to showers. So that means that the cloud
02:11will break up, there'll be some brighter spells in between, but it stays blustery. A windy
02:16day, fresh to strong winds for almost all of us, but those winds touching gale force
02:20for exposed north-western coasts in Scotland. That will of course make it feel on the cool
02:26side, although temperatures will be similar to Tuesday with the added wind not feeling
02:31very pleasant at all. More wind and rain to come on Thursday, particularly in the north.
02:36That moves south then, and then drier, brighter and warmer weather gradually moves north Friday
02:43and the weekend.
