00:07The outlook is for things to warm up
00:09as we head towards the weekends.
00:10We do have weather fronts just draped
00:12close to northern areas.
00:13This large area of high pressure, though,
00:15is also building in from the south as they push together.
00:19The ice bars get fairly close together,
00:21which suggests it's going to be quite breezy during Thursday
00:24night and Friday, and particularly windy
00:26across northern Scotland, where those weather fronts will
00:29Outbreaks of rain that are pushing a bit further
00:30south through the evening over southern Scotland,
00:33northern England, maybe as far south as North Wales
00:35before all that wet weather scoots out
00:37into the North Sea during the early hours,
00:39leaving most places dry by Friday morning.
00:42Dry, but fairly breezy, and still some showers
00:45over northern Scotland.
00:46Temperature-wise, well, holding up
00:48with the cloud and the breeze double figures
00:50in most urban areas.
00:52On to the details for Friday, and as I say,
00:55most places start dry, hazy sunshine across England
00:58and Wales.
00:59It will be fairly breezy, quite gusty winds
01:01throughout the day over northern Scotland, where there will be
01:04further rain across the northern portions of the Highlands
01:07and the Northern Isles in particular.
01:08Not much through the central belt,
01:10and certainly Northern Ireland looking
01:11dry and bright with sunny spells.
01:12And across England and Wales, yes,
01:14the sunshine may be fairly hazy initially,
01:16but I'm hopeful for clearer blue skies by the afternoon.
01:20There will be a fairly brisk breeze blowing.
01:22I mentioned quite windy in northern Scotland,
01:24but even elsewhere, a more noticeable breeze
01:26than Thursday, but also higher temperatures,
01:29feeling pretty warm if you can get out of that breeze.
01:3220 to 22, maybe 23 across the southeast,
01:36certainly quite a bit warmer than it has been for much of May.
01:38It will be a little cooler further western,
01:40particularly in the northwest with those showers
01:42and that gusty wind.
01:43It's not going to feel very pleasant at all.
01:45The rain, though, is easing off, just turning into a few showers
01:48during Friday evening.
01:50For most, it will be a fine Friday evening
01:52with largely clear skies.
01:54The wind is tending to ease off as well,
01:55and that could just allow a little bit of mist and fog
01:57to form.
01:58It'll certainly allow temperatures to fall away,
02:00a colder start on Saturday, but a cracking day if you
02:04like sunshine on Saturday.
02:06Still maybe one or two showers over the northern isles,
02:08but even here, they should be petering out.
02:11We will see the cloud increasing across the south coast,
02:14the sunshine turning a little hazy here,
02:16likely through the afternoon.
02:17But for most, as I say, Saturday is a fine spring day
02:21with temperatures responding to that sunshine,
02:23warmer for Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, and Wales,
02:26a couple of degrees warmer as well,
02:27and the winds will be light.
02:29So also 24, maybe a 25 possible close to the southeast.
02:34However, that cloud increasing across the south,
02:37that is from potentially a few thundery showers breaking out
02:41initially across France, but certainly something
02:44we need to keep a close eye on because we are looking
02:47at some wetter weather drifting up, developing across France,
02:50yes, maybe into the Channel Isles through the afternoon.
02:53Now, it's going to be a case of watching
02:55these showers or even thunderstorms develop
02:58and then seeing where they head because we are expecting
03:01the warmer air, that warm plume of air
03:03to drift northwards on Saturday night,
03:05bringing the risk of thundery showers over England and Wales
03:09through Saturday night and into Sunday.
03:11Going to be hit and miss.
03:12If you're after rain, I can't promise it,
03:13but there could be some heavy rain across the south
03:16during the night and perhaps into Sunday.
03:18Details for Sunday then a little elusive.
03:20If you have plans, make sure you stay up to date.
03:23And as I said at the start, the best way to do that
03:25is to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
