00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office. Plenty of blue skies
00:05across the UK over the course of the day with generally light easterly winds, but they will
00:10be picking up over the next few days. The reason for this is low pressure to the south,
00:14high pressure to the north and we are seeing a squeeze in the isobars there and we will
00:19see the winds increase over the next 24 hours. But back to Thursday afternoon, plenty of
00:25blue skies across the whole of the UK. Moderate UV levels, high pollen levels in the south.
00:30Keen easterly breeze along the east coast will keep temperatures down here at 12 to
00:3414 Celsius. Some low cloud too here may keep temperatures down in single figures, but in
00:40the sunshine further west, temperatures 18, 19, 20 Celsius possible towards southwest
00:46England, well above average for the time of year. Through the evening it will stay dry
00:50across the whole of the country, though later on and particularly overnight we'll see the
00:55low cloud mist and murk returning to eastern parts of England and Scotland, this moving
01:00its way inland through the night. Elsewhere, clear skies, a few mist and fog patches and
01:05temperatures generally mid single figures, so turning quite chilly by the end of the
01:09night and then a mixed start to Friday morning. There'll be some low cloud, mist and murk,
01:14particularly in the east, some blue skies too, but then through the day we'll see an
01:18area of cloud, some showery rain pushing its way slowly westwards across parts of England
01:23and Wales. Showers turning a little bit heavy as we get into the afternoon for south Wales,
01:27southwest England, but the Midlands, north Wales, northwards, plenty of sunshine to come
01:33once more. However, some low cloud across Orkney, Shetland, down into the north coast
01:38of Scotland and lapping onto shores along eastern England too. A keen east north easterly
01:43breeze though, pegging back temperatures along the east coast once more. Elsewhere, temperatures
01:48a little down compared to Thursday, 16, 17 Celsius is possible in the best of the sunshine
01:54in the west, but add on the strength of that breeze, it will feel chillier than the numbers
01:59suggest, so just starting to feel a little different by the end of Friday. And those
02:04showers in the southwest through the evening will fade away. Elsewhere, we'll generally
02:07see a dry end to the day, but again, the return of some low cloud across eastern areas as
02:14we move overnight. And leading us into the weekend, we'll see a lot more cloud around
02:18and that easterly breeze continues, but there'll be a risk of a few showers too. For more information
