00:00Hello there, I'm Greg Dewhurst and welcome to a look at the Easter weekend forecast.
00:06Plenty of dry weather around through the weekend itself, courtesy of high pressure.
00:11However, weather fronts will affect the north and the west at times, giving some low cloud,
00:15but more in particular towards Sunday and into Easter Monday, the risk of some rain.
00:20Let's just rewind to the beginning of the Easter weekend and look at the temperature charts.
00:26Warm for the time of year, temperatures well above average, indicated by the oranges on the map there.
00:31But just notice as we head into Easter Monday, blues enter the map there, indicating some cooler conditions.
00:38Good Friday itself, plenty of sunshine across England and Wales,
00:41some mist and low cloud across some western coasts, however,
00:44and the risk of some showers across Northern Ireland, perhaps getting into southwest Scotland later on in the day.
00:49Some lower cloud as well, some patchy light rain perhaps affecting the far northeast of Scotland.
00:54Here, temperatures on the lower side, 9 to 11 Celsius, but elsewhere,
00:58temperatures well above average for the time of year, reaching 22, possibly 23 Celsius,
01:04making it the warmest day of the year so far for 2022.
01:07The end of the day, plenty of fine weather to come, some low cloud, mist and murk developing once more
01:12across parts of Devon and Cornwall, Wales stretching up into northern England, southern Scotland too.
01:18Elsewhere, clear skies and generally dry, one or two showers across the west,
01:22and temperatures for large parts staying in double figures,
01:25perhaps a little bit chillier along some eastern coasts to start Saturday morning.
01:30Low cloud again, lifting and breaking as we go through the day.
01:33Most places dry and then plenty of sunny spells to come through the day.
01:38Perhaps some coastal areas holding on to some lower cloud, in particular Pembrokeshire,
01:42the tip of Cornwall, but plenty of blue skies for many and temperatures again rising into the low 20s,
01:49perhaps not quite as high as Good Friday, but highs still around 21 or 22,
01:54a little bit cooler around the coasts.
01:57Then as we look to Easter Day itself, we'll see changes.
02:01We'll see rain move across parts of Northern Ireland, western Scotland,
02:05thicker cloud pushing slowly into western parts of England and Wales too, but plenty of warm sunshine.
02:12And that continues into Monday.
02:13The fresher conditions start to move in across the north and the west,
02:16the risk of one or two showers, but highs still reaching 19 Celsius.
