00:00Hello again. A little bit of everything across the country in the next couple of days.
00:04Certainly for most, it's another dry day today, but there is some rain for Northern Ireland,
00:09Western Scotland and elsewhere. There's patchy cloud, mist, fog and some places having plenty of blue sky and sunshine.
00:17Out in the Atlantic, there are some weather fronts. You can see a lot of cloud here,
00:21but high pressure continues to dominate across much of the UK.
00:25This weather front, though, is making inroads. It's provided some rain already for Northern Ireland
00:30and that rain will continue to work its way across Northern Ireland.
00:32Some heavy bursts around the middle of the day and pushing into western parts of Scotland.
00:37The rest of the UK, though, staying dry and, as I said, a mixture of cloud, mist, fog,
00:42sticking around into the afternoon in some locations, but some sunshine for Northern England,
00:46northeast Scotland, parts of East Anglia in the southeast as well.
00:50The highest temperatures actually were the damp weather in the northwest, 9, 10, 11, maybe 12 Celsius in a few spots.
00:57Elsewhere, fairly typical for the time of year, high single figures.
01:01But where the fog sticks, you could see temperatures struggling to get much above 3 or 4 degrees Celsius.
01:07There'll be some patchy fog tonight, but further north, we are seeing more of a change
01:11as that weather system moves in, bringing some patchy rain for a time over Northern England,
01:15certainly turning wet again across Scotland and Northern Ireland through the early hours.
01:19Winds starting to pick up across the far north, too.
01:22Elsewhere, further south for England and Wales, mostly dry, again patchy cloud.
01:26There will be some fog and the winds remaining fairly light.
01:29Where skies stay clear, certainly in rural spots, there will be some pockets of frost.
01:34But most of us will be frost free for Wednesday morning.
01:38There will be a lot more cloud around, however, and that cloud bringing a wet start for Northern England and North Wales.
01:43That rain slowly tracking southwards, easing off as it does, but some heavier bursts for southwest England
01:48through the late morning. Patchy damp weather across East Anglia and the southeast during the afternoon.
01:54But generally, the cloud and rain clear away, most places brightening up through the afternoon with quite a bit of sunshine.
02:00But the winds continuing to strengthen and colder air is coming into the northeast.
02:05So the showers here turning more and more wintry initially over the hills,
02:08but by the afternoon to low levels over the Northern Isles and the northeast of the mainland,
02:12we could see some sleet and snow. Quite a cold day here as well.
02:17Temperatures only three or four degrees in Shetland.
02:20Further south, we could, at least for a time, get up to double figures.
02:23But add on that strengthening wind, certainly across the north, it will feel much closer to freezing.
02:30It's certainly going to turn pretty cold through Wednesday night and there will be largely clear skies.
02:34That wind, though, will help to stop temperatures dropping too far.
02:38But still, we will see frost for many places as we head into Thursday morning.
02:42And more of those wintry showers just coming down the eastern side of England.
02:46Mostly rain, but some sleet and snow, and it could turn icy wherever we've got these showers in the east on Wednesday night and into Thursday.
02:53A fairly brisk wind, but high pressure is moving back in.
02:57The isobars opening up, so the winds easing off.
03:00And that high pressure likely to keep the weather fronts at bay again, even into the weekend.
03:05So the outlook, again, remaining dry for most.
03:08Many places seeing some sunshine by day.
03:11There's brisk winds noticeable still on Thursday, but easing off.
03:15And again, particularly in the south, frosts are likely to return.
03:19As I said, a little bit of everything in the coming days.
