00:00Hello, there. Welcome to the latest broadcast from the Met Office. Some wet and windy weather
00:04over the course of the new working week. Taking a look at the bigger picture, low pressure
00:09dominates the weather pattern right throughout. Bands of rain moving in from the Atlantic
00:13followed by scattered heavy showers and brisk winds at times too. Temperatures on the chilly
00:18side initially, but by the end of the week, we should start to import something a little
00:22milder.
00:23So, taking a look at Sunday evening, clear skies across much of the UK taking us into
00:29the early hours. This will allow temperatures to drop away, particularly across Norman and
00:33eastern areas. However, it's a different story in the West. Across Northern Ireland, Wales
00:38and the West Country, cloud increases here. Outbreaks of heavy rain moving in and winds
00:42picking up too, particularly across the far southwest. Here, this means temperatures rising
00:47as the night goes on. By the morning on Monday, we could see temperatures around 6 to 9 Celsius.
00:53But in the north and the east, here, a frosty start to Monday morning. Ice scrapers at the
00:58ready, Tanzan cities 1 or 2 Celsius, minus 3 or minus 4 across eastern Scotland and north-east
01:04England. This combined with some icy stretches, some mist and fog patches could lead to a
01:09tricky commute first thing Monday morning here. And also a tricky commute further south
01:13and west across Northern Ireland into Wales, the West Country. Some really wet and windy
01:17weather as this low pressure spirals around and pushes its rain north and eastwards across
01:22England. Wind gusts increasing as the day goes on, perhaps as high as 60, 70 miles an
01:27hour for southern parts of Wales into Devon and Cornwall. So, a met obvious warning in
01:32force here. Some travel disruption is possible and the rain heavy leading to the risk of
01:36some localised flooding as well, particularly across Northern Ireland, but into Wales and
01:41the West Country too. A different story across the far north of England into Scotland. Some
01:46dry weather here, some sunny spells, but the risk of some showers across the far north-east
01:51of Scotland. A north-south divide in temperatures overall, generally 7 to 9 in the north, 11
01:57or 12 in the south. So, generally feeling chilly for everyone. Those winds in the south,
02:01it will just take the edge off the temperatures. Though the winds should slowly start to ease
02:06as we head towards the end of Monday into the early hours of Tuesday. The bands of cloud
02:10and rain continue to spiral around England and Wales. Clearing skies overnight across
02:14Northern Ireland into Scotland could lead to a touch of frost, so turning chilly here.
02:19One or two mist and fog patches. And overall temperatures, low single figures in the north,
02:24holding up in the south due to that cloud and rain. So, cloudy start for many on Tuesday
02:29morning across England and Wales. Some showery outbreaks of rain. Brighter for Northern Ireland
02:33and Scotland, though the far north of Scotland, an area of low pressure bringing some more
02:38persistent rain here for a time. But brightening up for many as we move through into the afternoon.
02:43Still some showers around, but there will be some sunny spells and those winds continue
02:47to fall a little bit lighter. Temperatures similar to Monday, so single figures across
02:52the north of the UK, just about getting into double figures in the south. So, still on
02:56the chilly side. But things are changing as we move from midweek onwards. We start to
03:02import milder air. We start to see wetter and windy weather moving back across the country,
03:07bringing some disruption possible over the course of the week. So, quite a lot going
03:11on over the next few days. If you'd like more information on this, where you are, you can
