00:00A windy spell of weather is upon us from Wednesday when warnings have been issued for the northern
00:05half of the UK. Let me take you through the bigger picture. All associated with a deep
00:09area of low pressure which remains well to the north of the UK. Even so, we will see
00:15a squeeze on the isobars across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England. A ridge
00:18further south will allow for a frost overnight into Wednesday. But here are your warning
00:22zones extending down towards Northern Council of England, the far north of Northern Ireland.
00:27This cold front weakens as it slowly moves towards southern counties through the latter
00:31part of Wednesday, clearing through the early hours of Thursday morning. And then a ridge
00:35comes in from the south west later. So we do have a yellow warning through the first
00:40part of Wednesday across northern Scotland. Gusts could reach 75 to 85 miles an hour across
00:46the coastline associated with the weather front moving in as well as the higher ground.
00:51And then from 9am this is your yellow wind warning pushing down towards Yorkshire, Lancashire
00:56as well as the far north of Northern Ireland. Gusts 45 to 65 miles an hour again in exposure.
01:02We'll see the highest gusts. So some damaging winds coming our way yet again. But overnight
01:07clearer skies across England and Wales. Some patchy mist and fog can't be ruled out and
01:12also a frost where we see those clearer skies persist. Rain approaches from the north west
01:17through the latter part of the night across the north west of Scotland as the cloud thickens
01:22ever southwards. And then the winds will really pick up some strength through the first part
01:26of Wednesday. A cold start to the day across England and Wales even with a little hazy
01:30sunshine but the cloud will slowly thicken through the day. The rain will be heavy across
01:35western Scotland. Rain also for Shetland as well as Orkney and it will intensify through
01:40the day as it extends down through morning time across Northern Ireland covering the
01:44central belt by around late morning into the first part of the afternoon. Notice the strongest
01:49winds associated with this cold front as it sinks southwards and ends a very gusty wind
01:54towards the north as well. Through afternoon into evening time you can see where the rain
01:59is. That's northern counts of England, the far north of Wales and clearing Northern Ireland
02:04but Belfast through rush hour will see some wet weather and blustery showers to follow.
02:09Ahead of it the cloud will be thick with some patchy rain and drizzle and eventually this
02:13weather front will slowly slide down towards southern counties through the latter part
02:17of Wednesday. Even the odd heavier pulse can't be ruled out towards the south east. A rash
02:22of showers follows across northern and western parts of Scotland and we could see some wintryness
02:27over the higher ground and yet again temperatures falling under clear skies across England and
02:32Wales. Even Northern Ireland in rural spots we could see the odd patch of frost to start
02:37the day on Thursday. Showery across northern parts of Scotland through Thursday and still
02:42those strong winds here. Elsewhere some clearer skies, some hazy sunshine as we head through
02:48the day on Thursday before thickening cloud brings outbreaks of rain yet again to central
02:53and northern areas of Scotland, clipping southern Scotland, the far north west of England as
02:57well as Northern Ireland. So a damp day across these parts further south. It's cloudy with
03:03a bit of a gusty wind setting the scene through Friday as well. It will be mild, cloudy with
03:08some rain in the north and north west and those gusty winds will continue. I'll see
03:13you later. Bye bye for now.
