00:00Hi there. It's been a fine start for many of us this morning with a ridge of high pressure
00:05but it's not going to last. Outbreaks of rain and thicker cloud is already arriving from
00:11the west affecting western Scotland, Northern Ireland, West Wales and parts of the south-west
00:16by the afternoon. Further east, brighter skies, some sunny spells but the cloud is building
00:21through the afternoon and a few showers could develop across eastern England for example
00:25staying mostly dry for eastern and the far north of Scotland, the far south-east of England
00:30as well and that's where the highest temperatures will be given some sunshine. 25 Celsius likely,
00:3626, 27 possible if we get enough sunshine and a reasonably wide area covered by 24 Celsius
00:45plus across central and eastern parts of England. 20 there for eastern Scotland but more like
00:52high teens in the far west as the cloud thickens into the afternoon and those outbreaks of
00:57rain arrive. Showery rain then pushes in across many parts during the evening and it's going
01:04to be an increasingly cloudy night. The cloud thickening and lowering as more humid air
01:09arrives and with that humidity it is going to be a muggy night with temperatures in many
01:14parts not falling much below 15 or 16 Celsius. So it might be a mild start to Thursday but
01:22it is a dreary one with this frontal system moving through and it's a waving feature,
01:29it's going to run along the south coast threatening heavier rain for a time during the morning
01:35but for many it's just an area of cloud outbreaks of showery rain and drizzle. A lot of low
01:41cloud having said that across south western shores and hills with mist and fog possible
01:48in places and we've got this spell of heavier rain just moving along the south coast for
01:53a time, that will be on and off otherwise it's patchy light rain and drizzle for southern
01:57areas, more showery stuff further north and actually skies brighten across many central
02:03northern parts of the UK by the end of the afternoon as a different air mass arrives
02:08and some showers push into Scotland and Northern Ireland, those showers turning heavier with
02:13perhaps some rumbles of thunder into the evening. We've still got the rain hanging around and
02:18the cloud there for the south east of England into the afternoon so with the cloud it's
02:22not going to be quite as warm but still relatively muggy in this airflow, 20 to 22 Celsius high
02:31teens further north. As I mentioned some heavier downpours into western Scotland and Northern
02:37Ireland during the evening especially around coastal parts, some lively outbreaks of rain
02:42here and the rain in the south east could turn heavier once again and more persistent
02:47as that just lingers into the evening and the first part of the night but by Friday
02:53well we're back to sunny spells and showers for many places and it will feel a little
02:58cooler as well.
