Transcript
00:00Hello there. The first day of meteorological autumn is starting warm and humid and the
00:06atmosphere is primed for some heavy showers and thunderstorms. Low pressure dominating
00:11through Sunday and into Monday before pulling away, allowing more of an Atlantic influence
00:16as we head through the week and staying fairly changeable as well. For Sunday afternoon into
00:22the evening time, the risk of some heavy showers and thunderstorms developing across parts
00:26of England and Wales, in particular eastern areas, but they could almost crop up anywhere
00:31across parts of the UK. Rather cloudy across Northern Ireland, southern parts of Scotland,
00:36the risk of some thunderstorms later here. Drier, brighter across Northern Scotland with
00:41some sunny spells. Winds generally light but just coming in off the North Sea across some
00:46northern and eastern parts of the UK here, quite chilly, 15 to 17 Celsius. Further south
00:52and east, quite warm and humid, temperatures reaching around 27, possibly 28 Celsius in
00:57the best of any sunshine that develops towards the southeast. Further west, across parts
01:02of Wales, the West Country, the continued risk of some thunderstorms here. Continue
01:07to see some thunderstorms as we head through into the evening time, pushing northwards,
01:10perhaps merging into some longer spells of rain. The MetEor is warning out for much of
01:15the day ahead and overnight as well. We could see 30 to 50 millimetres if you catch one
01:19of these heavy showers, some hail, some lightning in there. So there could be some disruption
01:24taking us in to Monday morning. A weather front also bringing some longer spells of
01:29rain across the far west later on and a warm, humid night for everyone, temperatures mid
01:34to high teens. Rather cloudy on Monday, outbreaks of showery rain in places, some thunderstorms,
01:41hail, some localised disruption. So there could be some tricky travelling conditions.
01:45The MetEor is warning staying out for much of the day on Monday. So it is worth staying
01:48up to date with the latest information on our channels over the next 24 hours or so
01:54as the development of the showers is likely to change. But we could see some very heavy
01:59showers developing right through the day. In between, there will be some sunny spells,
02:03just starting to turn a little drier across the far west later on in the day. Temperatures
02:09generally similar, 16 to 21 for most, still 24, 25 possible across the southeast where
02:17it's still fairly humid and it remains unchangeable as we go through into the evening time. Further
02:23thunderstorms possible, some longer spells of rain, hefty downpours across eastern Scotland
02:28there to end the day as well and some just dry weather trying to get into the far west
02:33later on. So over the next 24 hours, there are lots of potential heavy thundery showers
02:40around, some torrential downpours possible, some hail, some lightning could lead to some
02:45disruption. So it is worth staying up to date with the forecast through the next few days.
02:50See you again soon.
